Default Zinc Oxide- Comneogenic? Avobenzone Not?

    Hi All..

    Been lurking for abit...!

Love this group.. Note all the debate round sunscreens. Like many others on the list I have to try and balance my TX for rosacea (sub type I/Early Rhino) with my er.. acnegenic tendencies!!

I have read that zinc oxide/titanium oxide are comneogenic on their own. Avobenzone (also know as butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane) is apparently less so, but it isn't a phyisical suncreen therefore maybe more irratating to rosacea prone skin. Its a tough one!

Don't wanna add any confusion to the debate but just wondered if any of you's with sebum production++ would concur with this??

I'm gonna try that Citrix Antioxidant Sunscreen SPF 30 next..
If any of you guys got some experance of this please share..

    Bodhi.
IPL x2. Moxonidine 400mcgs/day. Occ Antihistamines. ? Low Dose Accutane soon.

    Lightbulb Sunscreens for rosacea

You'll find this rosacea sunscreen chemical index useful:

    http://www.rosacea-sunscreens.net/Chemical-Index.html

The acne-causing effect of zinc/titanium is a problem with old types of those ingredients, but then the newer types don't protect against UVA completely.
