Default Artemisinin, a potential option to inhibit inflammation and angiogenesis in rosacea

    Highlights

ART attenuated rosacea-like dermatitis in LL37-induced mouse model.

ART reduced the expression of proinflammatory factors and infiltration of inflammation cells in LL37-induced rosacea-like mouse.

ART repressed pro-inflammatory factors release in HaCaT cells may partly via NF-kB signal pathways.

ART inhibited angiogenesis in vivo and migration of HUVECs in vitro.

Apparently the herb wormwood contains Artemisinin I think, although I did not read up thoroughly on that. Interesting nonetheless.

Default Found another link to artesunate

Not sure if they are the same or similar compound, perhaps this has been discussed about before. Would be interesting to know the dosing and whether it is as effective as doxycycline without the sideffects

You cab buy supplement versions of Artemisia annua, also known as sweet wormwood . People buy them for malaria. I don't know how effective they compare to Artemisinin but they are the same substance.

Sadly not I still have the infection and seems impossible to remove the parasites... although there is a doctor who does an antibiotic infusion in Australia. It looks likely I will have to live with them. It would interesting to know if Woodworm has helped anyone with rosacea at all. Difficult to know what the dosing is though and I think you have to be careful with wormwood.
