botox typically kicks in 1-2 wks for me. This is for baseline redness, afternoon episode, and evening episode. At my most recent appt my derm said botox would not help with social flushing (I had asked him if my observation that botox did not help there with me is typical) but did not push for more information. that's great you seem to be healing well.

Interesting that you say that. The dr wanted me to do PDL first, but I felt Botox was lower risk. For the baseline redness, though, Iím not sure what will likely help other than a laser treatment...

I think maybe I am noticing some effects today. I feel like Iím less red and recovering faster from flushes. Will be interesting to see what happens in 1-2 weeks. And for social flushing...

I have this one spot that thereís a slight lump and itís light gray like a bruise. The lump worries me more than the bruise color...Iím not sure if it could be a swollen vein. Hopefully both disappear on their own. I donít want to put any pressure on it in case the bruise worsens.

Medications can help, but it will likely be from a different doctor who has a more specialist knowledge of them rather than the more cosmetic treatments like PDL and botox. The problem with the cosmetic treatments is that they can make a doctor quite a lot of money per patient whereas they have no particular incentive to offer you the off licence medications which can be very helpful for rosacea flushing if you find the right ones for you. It can take some patience to find the medications that work best for you.

What kind of medication can resolve baseline redness? By that, I mean where blood vessels have overgrown or are damaged and visible. I assumed laser is all that will fix that. I would be thrilled to take meds instead. I have medication that helps flushing and that overall makes me look less red, but I still have these red splotches from damaged vessels.

Would love to hear about any results you're seeing from the botox- please keep us updated! I'm trying to find a dermatologist near me (Pacific NW) that does this procedure for rosacea.

Tomorrow will be the one week mark and it takes 1-2 to be effective. So far I think itís helpful and I think my pores might look smaller (bonus!). But I definitely am still flushing so far ó heat, stress, embarrassment, foods. So itís not a cure by any means yet. Will see what the next week brings.
