Default Anybody ever tried split dose of LDN.

I am currently on 2.5 mg but feel that I need to increase my dose however, when I go up to 3 mg I don't feel right!

I am considering taking 1.5 mg at night and 1.5 mg 12 hours later.

    Anybody tried this please?

    Thanks

I started off at 0.5 mg and have slowly worked up to 2.5 mg (after 7 months).

When I attempt to increase to 3 mg, my face definitely feels more active/sensitive!

I took 1.5 mg yesterday evening at 11 pm and will take 1.5 mg this morning at 11 am.

I know that there is supposed to be an optimum time to take LDN, but I feel that I need to experiment!

    I will keep you posted!

Judy, so I did some checking on the LDN for morning use. As you know, it is rarely used as it doesnít produce the same benefits as night time dosing. What was found by an MS patient 3 years in remission was when she switched to morning dose, she came out of remission within 5 days. She immediately started back her nighttime dose and once again got into remission.

They also said that a morning dose could actually do the opposite of strengthening the immune system.

Since the recommended window of time is 9 pm to 3 am what if you took a regular 2.5 mg at 9 pm and then take another .5 mg as late as you could before going to bed? Do you think that you would have the same problem of sensitivity?

Aww, bless you for researching that.

I read this before I began:

"According to Dr. Zagon's studies the optimal daily dose of LDN is between 2.5 and 10mg. It is conceivable that some individuals, depending on their metabolism, would benefit from taking two doses daily of 3mg or 4.5mg, 12 hours apart, and in fact this has been reported by some people".

This is the 2nd day of splitting the 3mg dose; yesterday was 28 here in the UK (I actually spent some time in the garden) and had a GOOD face day (as I put it).

I know that I always absorb medications really well (hence having such a high overactive thyroid but being able to control it with anti-thyroid meds NOT an operation); so I just need to get the LDN into my system
in the best & most comfortable way possible!

There is much debate on the timing of taking LDN, but many cannot take a PM dose due to poor quality of sleep, I just needed to increase my dose a little!

I understand that 4.5 mg is the MAXIMUM prescribed dose for rosacea and I think for many of us that is just too much.

I will keep this post updated with my progress.

Judy, I did see some of Dr Zagonís study but didnít delve into as much as you. Sounds like maybe it is working for you. I always have to ask ďSiriĒ to translate Celsius to Fahrenheit for me since Iím in the states and we use a different measurement. Itís funny I remember back in the 70ís when I was in grade school, the teachers kept saying that we were switching to the system that you all use but we never did. Plus you all drive on the wrong side of the road.

Continued good luck and best wishes to you Judy.
