Default Anyone tried an extreme food elimination diet?

Im thinking to eat only one food and water fast to see if my SD problem is food related. Im thinking about sweet potatoes cause i think it wont be hard to just eat them for a few weeks as they are quite satisfying.

    Any ideas?

Kinda, yeah. I have a thread in this subforum called Food Experiment Open Diary or something like that where you can see how I did (and am still doing) it. Sweet potatoes are a great food to start with. I didn't go down to 1 food + water but I got very close. I am still only eating a fraction of what a typical omnivore would eat. My mainstays in the beginning were sweet potatoes and fish. I also swapped nuts and eggs back and forth so I wouldn't have to go without both, just one at a time. I tried to be mindful of getting a balanced diet despite the elimination diet.

Thing is i kind of have tried a carnivore and water diet in the past and it seemed to help my SD but i just couldn't keep it up for long. Heard people talk about a plant based non animal diet so i have to check if it has any effect so no eggs...dairy.meat..is a big part of this first test.

This subject has been covered several times before. Might want to read this post on this subject and note what MichaelV (a physician) wrote in post no 3:

"A proper elimination diet involves two phases: (1) an strict elimination phase whereby all potential offending foods and chemicals are avoided and (2) a slow, systematic reintroduction of each potential offending food and chemical class in an attempt to identity your own individual sensitivities."
