When I used it, I noticed results after 6 weeks of use.

That's heartening. It can be hard to be patient!

It gets hard as the time passes by, but the good thing with metronidazole is that it works. I remember that during the first 5 weeks my skin was all the same and then I woke up one day and the pimples just weren't there anymore. The bad thing was that when I stopped using it, some pimples reappeared, not as bad as before, but still. I don't remember for how long I had been using it, maybe not long enough.

Yeah, I'm in the very fortunate position of already having had my p&p's and textural problems fixed by other means and just trying to sort out the redness at this point... my derm seems to think that the metrogel will fix the redness... I am all in for trying. I'm still in week 4, and going okay. I've had more pale days than red days (I'm always pink but it's an issue of degrees) lately. It could well be the metrogel in fact. Only in the past week have I started to see the numbers tilt toward metrogel.

okay what do I mean by that...

Every day when I am doing my morning skincare, I rate my face on a scale of 1-4. 1=great, 4=horrible. I write it down on my calendar.

I started using metrogel 26 days ago. For the 10-day period immediately preceding me starting metrogel, my 'ratings' were:

    seven "2"s
    three "1"s

For the 10 days including today and counting backwards, my 'ratings' were:
    three "2"s
    seven "1"s

I have to say that that is a real improvement.

I wouldn't necessarily have told you that "oh, yes, metrogel is really helping!" but looking at the numbers (granted -- a purely subjective rating system and probably affected by my mood lol) it's pretty encouraging actually.

Worth noting though is that shortly after I started using metrogel, I "backslid" into lots of 2s for a while before seeing the improvement. Which is why I started out on this thread saying I'd had no improvement yet.

For me to score a "1" or a "2", my texture has to be perfect (no p&p's, no pimples, no scales, no peeling). 2 = pinker than 1, basically.

The redness got worse at first and then it went away, but after stopping metronidazole it reappeared.
