    Default Is this Ocular Rosacea?

    Hello,
For the past several months my eyes have been in bad shape. Several times a day, usually whenever they start to water (when I'm tired etc.) they will sting horribly, like someone just shot pepper spray into them. The only relief I've found is to take a shower and wash them out. Does this sound like Ocular Rosacea or something else? Any input would be appreciated as this is happening several times a day and it's driving me crazy.

Do you have facial rosacea? If so then yes it is probably ocular rosacea. See an opthomologist, or corneal specialist. There are ways to control it

Sorry for the late reply, I thought I had written back before. I do have have an appointment with a Doctor who can most likely forward me to someone that can help if he can't, I still have another month to go though. I don't think I have roscacea, are the two linked and can someone have ocular rosacea without roscacea? My eyes just randomly sting horribly and start watering, or they will sting if my eyes start watering. The only relief I can get is by washing them out. It's horrible.

Sorry for the double post, it wasn't allowing me to edit my previous message. I just wanted to say that I don't think it's dry eye, I tried eye drops and it caused my eye to sting like I'm describing, I'm starting to think it's something that my skin is secreting or something and it gets into my eyes causing them to sting. If anyone has any ideas it would be helpful.

Do you wear eye makeup ? This can irritate the eyes if you have an allergy to an ingredient in the mascara , liner , etc . Do you have seasonal allergies ? Pollen , grass , oak , these things can cause the eyes to water , sting , itch , burn , etc . My Dr. gives me an allergy eye drop to use all summer long because i have eye allergies . They are mild , but very annoying . The drops are a rx . And you only need to use them once a day . Makes life much easier .

I don't wear eye makeup (I'm a guy) and have never really had allergies to anything.

Ok . I still think it may be ocular allergies . Look up the signs and symptoms online . You said this started a few months ago ? Right around peak of the highest time of year for pollen in the air . In any case , you should go make an appt. to see an opthamologist . Sooner rather than later to address the concerns you have with your eyes .
