    Default Optimel

Has anyone tried this drop for dry eyes or ocular rosacea? Pretty pricey but might be worth a try.

Not yet, would certainly consider though as manuka honey is the only thing that soothes my inflamed lid area!

I used to use manuka honey but now use Cliradex and think it might help. The honey also calms me at first but never worked long term...

Thumbs up Just purchased Optimel available in the UK!

My Optimel arrived today, finally available to purchase in the UK for 15.00.

Manuka honey applied to my lids always soothes them, so I am keen to see how I get on with these drops.

Initially it does sting for a few seconds, but soon goes away..................can use 2-3 times a day WITH normal artificial tears!

    I will keep you updated!

    Thumbs up Update!

For those of you plagued by ocular rosacea (I have MGD) and very red and sore outer lash line, I have been using Optimel for just over 2 weeks, together with a cream cleanser Ilast and the results are very
    encouraging!

I would say the above products have improved my issues by about 70% already (Optimel says improvement by 4 weeks).

    HTH?

    Default Optimel Drops

    Hi Judworth,

Did you have a lot of inflammation on the lids or mainly the dry eye symptoms of ocular rosacea?

    Thx, Bluedog

The upper & lower lids are red and swollen (normally) and very dry and sore................my eyes feel itchy and very sensitive.

These two products are making a huge difference!

Optimel sounds interesting. I am currently using Hycosan eyedrops after dryness had caused the tear film to be sort of lumpy and patchy in part of one eye, which was uncomfortable and stopped me from wearing contact lenses for a few weeks. The optician recommended Hycosan, which can be used with lenses. It seems to have done the trick, although I did also restart fish oil supplements, which have helped in the past.

Yes, I wanted to try them for quite sometime however, they weren't available in the UK.

Prefer something non-medicated if I can.............seem to have really helped even not yet 3 weeks in!
