    Default Newbie question

Hello, I've been on Doxycline for about 2 months and it has given me big time red face and I'm still breaking out.
My derm continues to provide topical creams that are extremely harsh. Did anyone experience this and what did you do to get better? Red face sucks!

Hi David, welcome to the RF. What are your symptoms besides a red face? Do you have papules/pustules? If so the doxycyline can take a full 16 weeks to work to maximum effect so you might need to give it some more time. What dosage doxy are you taking currently?

Also, if the topical meds are irritating your face can you just stop them and see if the doxy is sufficient. Sometimes adding too many things to the mix is counterproductive. Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply, and I've been taking the Doxy for 4 months and I'm definitely breaking out with white pustules. Is there a safe lotion/moisturizer to use?
