Birdie, I am giving this a try. How long did it take before you noticed a difference? At first did you do it every day? Or did you just start off doing it a few times a week?

    Thanks!

Yeah. At first I did it every day as I was tinkering with Auburn's honey mask ( read that post if
You have not). What I discovered from the first application of honey was the itchiness and
Gunk in my eyes greatly reduced. But applying it every day was too much and made my
Eyelids puffy and reddish. After a couple months of applying it 3-4 times a week, I now
Do it once or twice. No more itch, red, gunk, bleph, etc.... My eyelids have always been
Very thin skinned and delicate. Always could see capillaries. Still can. I put on on
A very neutral color mineral eyeshadow to conceal this. Other than that, my eyes
Feel healthier now than they have in years. Hope this helps!!

Do you use artifical tears throughout the day? This is day two of manuka honey treatment and I think it may be getting better. How long have you suffered with the ocular rosacea? I am going on year 3 at the end of June. So far diet and Restasis have helped a small amount. I do not have facial symptoms really.. Just the painful eyes.

    I really need relief!

Hi. I don't know how long I've had ocular rosacea.
Finally diagnosed fall of 2013. I was symptomatic
For years. I'm not using artificial tears right now
But I'm considering it. The honey has helped so
Much but I do have dry eyes. Hope you have
    Luck with this!

Birdie, I have been feeling moderate relief with the honey slowly! This is a good sign just wanted to know how many weeks/months it took to achieve a full remission? I know it's different for everyone, but I was just curious

    Thanks

    Well, I was!

I got silly and stopped doing lid scrubs, warm compresses etc for about 2 months and developed a nice chalazion.

I am back to 'hot' compresses, eyelid scrubs and thera tears (see my signature) and 2 weeks on eyes are no longer sore,

    gritty or watering!

    What are your symptoms?

    I have MGD.
