Cool Is chocolate BAD for rosacea ?

Good weekend and thanks for reading all.

A quick question i have been told for alot of people along the years that chocolate is bad for skin problems............ to be honest when i eat chocolate i dont find it does trigger redness flushes....... but wanted to leave the question anyway.

What do you guys here think ?

most people find dairy products and sugar products to be aggravating. and chocolate has both. I know for me personally chocolate is the absolute worst thing I can possibly do to myself. but everybody's different so it's up to you to experiment to see how you respond to different triggers.

Chocolate and dairy are two of the worst things for my rosacea!!! I would certainly avoid chocolate!

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for an adverse reaction to appear. So while you might eat chocolate one day the reaction might not appear for a few days. That's what makes it challenging to realize all your triggers. For me chocolate and dairy are triggers unfortunately but it takes days for the effects to appear.

I haven't noticed a consistent reaction from eating too much chocolate and any flare ups. But, I will bet it does not do you any favors. I have noticed my skin is better when I am not eating chocolate, mostly I notice that in terms of less acne. When I am going through periods of eating tons of chocolate (and possibly other junk), not only my face, but also my chest gets more spots.

I started adding dark chocolate (85%) into my diet as I read I was ok to eat with Rosacea. As stated above, it's hard to realise specific triggers as they might not surface until a few days later, by which time you may put it down to something else entirely!

After reading this I think I might exclude it for a couple of weeks and see if there's any difference.
