Default Important to rule out Demodectic Rosacea

A recent report announced today on PubMed concluded, "The presence of D. folliculorum in skin biopsies is associated with the diagnosis of rosacea. The infestation density was increased among the patients with rosacea." This report is added to the growing evidence that it is so important for a physician to rule out demodectic rosacea in a differential diagnosis of rosacea. This list of papers written on demodectic rosacea is massive.

    Default Thank You

Thank you for keeping us posted on the research. In my case, I do believe that the demodex is the culprit and requested that this be considered as a possible problem. Regretfully, when I saw a dermatologist he just looked visually at my skin and proclaimed that I didn't have a demodex problem. Never took a skin scrapping, never checked the eyelashes, no microscopic examination of any kind. I guess that he thinks he has amazing superhuman visual acuity to dismiss the mites as differential diagnosis. So, even though the research gets published, doctors due to either their own ignorance or arrogance allow patients to suffer needless.
