Default Sometimes i feel like tattooing my face :(

Before you read on, I am not considering this idea. It is just how i feel. However, i am guilty of looking up face tattoos online.

Firstly, i am a male so us males really find it difficult to conceal our rosacea. As much as i would be a 0% chance of doing it, sometimes i just wish i could tattoo my face and cover my rosacea. The thing is, if i had a tattooed face, i would probably walk around with confidence and have people look or stare out me in a different sort of curiousity. Instead, I never go out of the house for fear of my face going red or that people will find something different or wrong with me.

I often think, do i live my life feeling like a freak? or get a tattoo and live my life looking like a freak?

Girls, you may not understand how i feel. In some strange way, you get to tattoo your face everyday by putting make up on and covering your rosacea problems.

Anyway, please don't reply with "PLEASE don't ruin your face" posts. I am not going to do it. I am just thinking out loud and wished that it was socially acceptable to have tattoos on your face. Then i would walk around without a care in the world. Except, I would be unemployed and no doubt people would want to tell me their thoughts on what a stupid decision i made.

Please don't take what i wrote literally. My message was more that rosacea makes me feel like a freak, while a tattoo would make me look like a freak. If you know what i am saying.

This thread may be of interest even though your thought was more philosophical

You know what has occurred to me is that in the future I think you will actually be able to get people that specialise in giving reconstructive tattoos that mimic the look of normal skin. Sort of like the medical tattoos that can be used after breast surgery or the semi permanent make up you can get. Of course that idea is probably totally off the wall very painful

One of the things that concerns me regarding tattoos is that it might cover up a potential problem such as a melanoma. This has been on my mind because tattoos are so popular and recently I have seen a number of people with tattoos covering much of their body. I don't have any idea how a dermatologist can do a proper skin check to rule out cancers with people who have tattoos covering up so much skin.

Sorry for the mini thread jack but just something to think about.

I've always thought of this but I would ask for like a flesh colour to be tattooed all over my face and hide the redness forever! Yay.. I imagine it would be so painful but no more than what I've put myself through with IPL haha.

Even just thinking about tattoos on your face seems to me to indicate some strong psychological disturbances and I recommend you get some professional help.

Tattoos will not help the problem, just hide it. All the other symptoms will remain so there is nothing to gain there. Have you considered make-up? Expertly applied, good make-up can disguise the reddest of faces (and even the blackest of tattoos!) without being apparent to the casual observer.

Cool (if somewhat scary lol)video Sarah. And I highly recommend dermablend. I have been using it for many years and it really covers.

JB, I think it is fair to say that a decent percentage of people on this forum are heavily psychologically impacted by this disease. Without putting a curse on myself, there are a lot of worse problems i would rather than this disease.

And i think a lot of people would be content with having the symptoms but not the visual appearance.

And i don't think it is such a disturbing thought when females basically cover their faces every day with make up, which in some strange cultural way is a form of a tattoo.

I am sure, if females were in the same position as us males (not being able to apply make up), it would affect them even more than what it does now. Also, just as the thought of a tattoo shocks you, the thought of make up has the same shock value for me. Just like society doesn't accept tattoos on the face, the same society doesn't appreciate men wearing make up. To be honest, i would rather have a tattoo before i wear make up.

Gizzy, I am happy i am not the only one that has those thoughts. And i really don't think it is as crazy as people make out.

Melissa, I don't think cancers would be a problem. Not sure about where you come from but in Australia the doctors have a special laser/infra red sort of machine that they wave over your skin to find abnormalities.

Anyway, i am happy that i am not alone in thinking of this.
