    Default Why is coconut oil treatment reccomended if it has oleic acid

    I thought anything with oleic acid is bad for seb derm, but in the sticky there a honey and cocounut treatment. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

    Coconut oil is an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and a mitacide.

    but can't the oleic acid in it have badd effects on seb derm?

    The oleic acid content of coconut oil is very low in comparison with the majority of common vegetable oils. (6% coconut vs 46% in peanut oil).

    Yeah you shouldn't use virgin coconut oil, cuz it has lots of oleic acid.

    I use this oil and oil free liquid for seborrheic dermatitis. The oil used in the oil version is actually fractionated coconut oil, in which oleic acid has been removed.

    Anyways I CANNOT EXPRESS enough how they saved my life!!! The itch reduced significantly. I just try not to scratch, so overtime the patches are slowly coming off themselves. I also use the salve for the patches along my hairline, like around forehead, behind my ears.

    Marty Oh is a spam account. If you check their post history, each post is promoting and linking to these etsy products, and in this case they've resurrected a 7-year-old thread just to post the same spam.
