Default Concern with Teratogenicity with the Long Term use of Accutane

A new report on long term use of Isotretinoin [Accutane] says that "Relapse of acne vulgaris continues to be a problem" with long term use as well as "Teratogenicity, [which] remains a very significant concern." Teratology is the study of abnormalities of physiological development. [1] I have been collecting anecdotal reports of rosacea induced accutane [relapse of acne vulgaris] as well as an article on accutane. In medicine, there is a benefit risk ratio to consider when accepting a treatment for rosacea. The physician is to clearly explain the benefits and the risks of the treatment. The insert that comes with the prescription clearly explains the risks involved in taking the drug. The patient has the right to decide if the benefits are worth the risk. If the patient decides to accept the treatment long term, the patient will discover in time the results of the decision. This is called informed consent.

[1] Isotretinoin: dose, duration and relapse. What does 30 years of usage tell us?

You want another testimonial :P. I got accutane induced rosacea 15 years ago, hasn't cleared since. I have tried just about everything. Nothing has worked. Next time I see the doctor I will ask about Mepacrine its the last thing I haven't tried.I have had 3 non pupuric vbeam and it didn't do much.
