I wouldn't put vasoline on my eye.

Have a look around in the drugstore. One time I found a nice neutral Neutrogena eye cream that was good. Instead of putting it right on your lid, trace a tiny bit just under your eyebrow and it will migrate down. But make sure you can use it on your lid.

Also there are eye creams or gels that are meant to be placed on your inner lid. You can find these in the eye section.

And look for eye products without preservatives.

near the lids, sure. But very little. I don't know how you would react if it travelled into your eye.

TheraTears has preservative-free gels that are nice to use at night. These are "single use" (I save some of mine placing the applicator upright in a little plastic bottle). There are also creams in tiny tubes (30-day lifetime) where you trace the cream into your lower lid before bed. If you go on amazon or wherever and search for one item, the others will appear, too, and you can see what's out there.

    Hi Jenny,
    Welcome to the RF.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. It is OK to use vaseline around your eyes just be careful not to get it into your eyes. You can also try rubbing in a little antibiotic ointment around the dry skin around your eyes as that will provide moisture and healing.

It s also important to use preservative free rewetting drops frequently throughout the day to add moisture back to your eyes. Also, you might want to ask your eye doctor about the use of punctal plugs to keep moisture in.

Good luck and hope you find relief soon!

    Best,
    Melissa
