Default Can skin become addicted to lotion?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew or had any experience with their skin getting addicted to lotion? It seems like everyone else never has to put any lotion on their skin and they get no peeling. Not putting lotion on my skin is an absolute nono, but as far as I'm aware dryness isnt a symptom of rosacea. Is my skin getting dry just because it's used to lotion and when I don't put it on it gets unhappy?

    Thanks!

ya kno a while back i had the same thought... For 3 or 4 years i applied eucerin or a eucerin like product on my face because i thought i had to to keep the dryness away. But then i realized that I had fairly oily skin.... not super oily, but enough that I didnt need to apply anything to keep it from drying out. Dont forget that moisture (water) and oil are actually opposites... what most moisturizers do is just apply a barrier that keeps the water in... if your face produces oil... you really don't need that moisterizer..

anyways.. long story short... i now dont use any moisterizer... and my skin is fine (as far as dryness is concerned). I get a little peeling but nothing major.

P.S. sorry for not answering your question in any way, shape, or form

Personal experience is always better than a hopefully right response from someone. You definitely confirmed my suspicion and I've been weening off lotion for the past few days. Seems like my skin isn't nearly as dry as I thought it would be.

That was my thought exactly when I stopped using lotions.

Default Skin lotion should be much more than moisturizer

    Hi,

I think a good skin lotion should do much more than "moisturize" skin--it should have healing properties, even if as a "cosmetic" the package can't mention it.

I use lotion each morning after my shower because it improves skin health, at least for me. By evening, my face will be a bit too oily so I wash with a mild soap, and the process repeats.
