    Question Remission?

    I am sure that this question has been raised before (but I cannot find the thread);

just wondered who has had their rosacea go into remission?

I know Peter has and David............anyone else and after what length of time.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Judy,
If by remission you mean their symptoms diminished greatly to the point where they could stop thinking about their rosacea most of the time (even if needing to continue treatments) then here is a partial list of individuals I can remember who had amazing and dramatic changes re their rosacea symptoms. I am defining remission as where rosacea no longer has any impact on their daily life. I am also going from memory and cannot say these people are still in remission but here is a list of individuals I can think of who have experienced success.

Peter, IowaDavid, Queta, Fox123, Katherine, iDan, Fut, Artist, Chelsey, Chenoarae, Bluesky, Eastwest, David P, Wrinkled Clue, dallascowgirl have all had dramatic improvements. I don't know if they all consider themselves to be in remission but they are for all intents and purposes doing great re rosacea as far as I know.

Here are some posts discussing remission.

I am currently in remission. Symptoms are very, very mild. I flush from major exercise (6+ mile run, lifting or hot yoga) or direct sun during peak hours - which I don't do anyway!
I no longer flush from any foods, temp changes, anxiety, wine...

8 IPLs (saved my life) my last IPL was May 20th - I will do touch ups every 8 -10 months.
lots and lots of yoga have helped my sleep and anxiety and overall fitness- anxiety and sleep disorder have disappeared except with normal stress i.e. public speaking etc.! Yeah!

Just added the honey for some mild flakeyness - seems to be helping!

Plus: regular exercise, healthy diet, lots of sleep, avoid sun (big hats) .....

So far so good - I am very lucky I responded well to ILP...my nose is the only area that is stubborn..but it seems to be under control right now...

    Good luck!

    Jen

You should add Megan to the list, as well.

Right now, I would even include myself, though I'm not sure I want to jinx it. After four months under Dr. Tirant's care (same as Megan) and three months of low dose Accutane, I am virtually symptom-free these days and even look pretty normal. Wish I could post pics, but my account says "You may not post attachments" (mods, can you fix this?).

    Thumbs up

    That is great news Michael.

To post photos you need to upload to an photo server account such as photobucket and then download from there. Hope that makes sense.

    Best wishes for continued success!

    Melissa

ps I would really appreciate it if you could post your success story in the personal success thread. I am trying to get all success stories under one thread as a reference for members. Thanks Michael.
