Question Clinique for Men Shave Cream

Hello, I've been using Clinique for Men Shave Cream for a couple of months now. I like that I helps a lot to prevent redness or the burning sensation I always get after shaving but at 1st I was worried because it contains petrolatum. I remember using Vanicream lite with that ingredient and the 1st couple of days it was great but afterwards my face was a mess. I use the shaving cream once or twice a week because I can't shave everyday because my skin is extremely reactive. Since last week I've been getting a couple of cystic acne on my neck (2), my right cheek (1), and now my chin (2); this is driving me crazy because my skin has been looking great for the last 3-4 months. Sometimes I don't need to use the almost makeup to cover my skin, I remember one week going to work with only my clinique daily relief cream on! I think this cream just made me break out because I'm only getting those in the areas I shave. I'm very dissapointed because I really like this shaving cream, it helps me shave faster and with no irritation. Other factors can be that I ran out of my sarsaparilla which is soooo great to prevent p&p's!!! I ran out of my zinc and started using a different brand and tablet one the week before the pimples appeared. I usually sleep 4-5 hours when I'm working, I started that new job 2 1/2 months ago so I don't think sleep deprivation can be the cause because those 1st 2 months my skin was looking awesome, maybe a little pimple here or there. Please, if u have tried the clinique shaving cream and can tell me more about it, do so. I tried the shaving gel from their line but is not as good as the cream. My skin doesn't like shaving gels, they don't protect my skin enough.

    Default re: men shaving cream

    Hi there Erikson!!

have u tried extra virgin olive oil or perhaps jojoba oil ? (i think jojoba is safer)
dont be alarmed.. lotsa females smother olive oil all over then shave. its moisturizing, and u wont get those razor rash.
try female products, its alot less harsher than men's.

    hope this helps!

rem. to moisturize well after shavin

such as makeup removers, eye makeups, eyeliners, moisturizers everything!! all in one go, so we can all compare? pls mention if u also have problems with any.

    I'll start

    Eye makeup remover:
    - Lancome Bi-Facil gentle
    - EVOO

    Face Makeup remover:
    - DHC cleansing oil
    - EVOO
    - Ponds cold cream

    Face Cleanser:
    - Aquanil
    - Cetaphil

    Moisturizer: Physiogel cream

Face self tanner: Clarins Liquid Bronze

    Foundation:

Where do you get Physiogel cream? Is it available by prescription only? I have very dry and sensitive facial skin, and I'm currently looking for something soothing and tolerable.

rosaceastriken-Physiogel Cream in the US and Canada is known as "Impruv". Generally you can find it at Walgreens or order it from drugstore.com or amazon.com.

Beware the Deep Repair-that has Alpha Hydroxys. You want the natural repair in the light blue boxes.

    Default physiogel

    physiogel is that good?
i was actually looking for another cream... its soothing and hydrating. but i feel its sometimes kinda too oily.. and doesnt really 'absorb' into the skin.
i find it better to apply serum or something, then top it with physiogel.

if only i can find eucerin or cerave in hk here! argggg

I agree...Impruv/Physiogel can be greasy and I wish there was a better formula for the face. Unfortunately though I haven't found many other things that help more than they irritate.

Do you find Jojoba absorbs well?

I'd say jojoba absorbs pretty well, but if you're dehydrated it doesn't add moisture back per se vs kind of cover it up. So I find I have to use a separate serum (Replenix) underneath.

    My new treatment!

    Morning:
PUR BABIES CHAMOMILE BABY WASH(extremely gentel very good for rosacea) store is only in UK.
SOPHYTO MEGA OMEGAS DAY FACE MOISTURIZER( same very gentle and moisturizing )
    Night:
    PUR BABIES CHAMOMILE BABY WASH
    CERA Ve LOTION+POMEGRANATE OIL

    I have
mild rosacea with no P&P no problem with acne, have some capilares and very reactive skin and these treatments is for my skin amazing.
Pomegranate oil is very antiinflamatory and is non-comedogenic becouse they dont have a lot % of oleic, steraic, palmitic itd.. acid.
I dont use any more Paula Choice Moisturizing cream becouse they dried my skin like hell.I think the culprit its been petrolatum and octyl stearate.in formula. To oily for my skin.

    Default Physiogel

I have the same problem with the Physiogel. My face loves it, it resolved the problems I had with seb derm, the ingredients are very safe and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin a bit.
BUT it is soooooo oily. I cannot use it at day time, only at night.

The cleanser that I use is The Body Shop Aloe Vera (the non foaming one)
The moisturizer for daytime is Eucerin Re-balance

The sunscreen that I use is Anthelios Fluide Extreme 50+
