    Question Hormonal Flushing?

    Hello,

I guess this one is aimed at the ladies

My flushing is certainly worse at certain times of the month, at ovulation it can be quite

    fierce!

I know that my triggers are usually emotional, just wondered how many ladies out there

    are experiencing this too?

    Default Interesting..

Not sure if my rosacea gets worse around the time of my period but it has been bad the last few days and it's due in day or two....very red and angry!!! However, it could be due to the 2 chocolate muffins I've just eaten (I'll blame the PMS! ) and the PMS makes me rather angry and aggitated which in turn make face red. Am sure there probably is a connection though. One of many contributing factors! I could start a diary I guess and chart when it's bad and what time of the month it is.....however, there are so many other factors that could be the reason the skin is bad like stress, emotional, diet, a topical you may have tried...where do you start to find out which one was the cause?

Yes, I used to flush really bad a week or two before that time of the month. Even worse, this was in the winter and I absolutely could not get warm for more than a few seconds without flushing so it was either freeze or flush. Either time, PDL, or the fact that the temperature was stabilizing eliminated it completely.

    Hello Judworth

My flushing is definitely hormonal. I entered premenopause earlier this year and, in April, a few days before my period, I had my first seb derm flare. Beet red face, inflammation, peeling, etc. Now that my seb derm is under control, the diffuse pink/redness is minimal, except for those pre-curse days.

I've treated seb derm successfully with raw honey and virgin coconut oil and have been symptom-free since June '09. Follow this ---> link <--- for details.

Post Don't you just love being a Woman?

    Thanks All,

I am certainly an emotional flusher at the best of times (having an overactive thryroid
means my body has a tendancy to run fast anyway!).

But I certainly feel more sensitivity mid-cycle.............I am not a girl to take meds as
EVERYTHING affects me big time (I even got a reaction to Evening Primrose Oil at first).

Thank you for the link Melissa.
