Hard to say. I mean a headache could be just a headache. Nothing extreme enough to notice really.

I think some of you are reading into it too much..

I mean headaches in this time of the year are normal...

lets not forget its a lupus medication that takes atleast a month to fully get in your system

    I do agree with Halfpipe101.

Majority of drugs take at the Minimum a month to show any real benefits. I think as we have only been taking Mepacrine 2+ weeks we are still in the EARLY days. Assess the situation around the 6-8 week mark.

Cool ill have to let my derm know that. He said we'll see if it works after a month. I see him in a week, which will make the total im on it for just under 4 weeks.

well I've had some extra burning today and yesterday. Doesn't look bright tomato red though. Wondering if people experienced more stinging and burning as well. I'm at the 3 week mark, just over. Still trying to keep positive. It makes it harder when you're in pain though and you didn't do anything to cause the burning, no triggers or anything.

As most rosaceans seem to get worse initially after starting mecaprine, I have to wonder if the reason is, it is killing off something? The theory of bacteria raises it's head again.
After all, mecaprine 'is' an antimalarial and is designed to 'kill'.
I know the desired action is that of an anti inflammatory and mecaprine has many actions, but considering the rollercoaster ride to reach that point, I am left wondering. Perhaps it has a dual effect on rosaceans?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Interesting. Well it's said to have antifungal, antiparasitic and antiviral actions.

Well it feels like I have a sunburn very warm and burning.

I wonder if that theory is true. Though I didn't get worse right away, I noticed it more around the 2 week mark.
