    Melissa,

It breaks my heart also. I once considered volunteering at the RSPCA, but when I met a woman who had recently started as a volunteer, her tales put me off forever. She had to be part of the selection process and deliver the animals herself. Horror, horror!!
    I could never do that.
    I continue to donate instead.

We live on a villa complex in Brisbane. No pets are allowed, which is a shame.
If they were, I would seriously consider fostering for three month periods. I wouldn't want another pet, as I have Caesar, waiting for me at home in NZ, but to care for another for a few months would be rather nice. I would also be providing a necessary service.
    No chance of that though.

I once saw a dog testing them out and the result was a cross between the highland fling and walking on hot coals. Hilarious! The dog had bandages which needed protecting.

    Sarah,

What breed is Remi? He/she has a lion like appearance, especially due to the large paws.
Or is this an illusion due to camera angle?
Remi is burmese. I think the paws look bigger because he is trying to keep himself steady

Haha, how does Remi manage to look both regal and ferocious all at once?

Mistica - Baker was not impressed with socks, unfortunately - and you hit the nail on the head with the highland fling/hot coals dance It was worth it for me though, I don't remember the last time I'd laughed quite so hard, and still get a good chuckle whenever I see that picture
