Default New member looking for a good topical product.

Hey there. I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with rosacea about a year ago. My dermo placed me on a low dose accutane that I finished in last december. Since then she has had me on a retinol atralin (tretinoin) gel. I am not too happy with this gel, nor with my dermo. I am now going on a clean diet and am limiting aspects of my llife that seem to trigger my rosacea.

I was wondering if anyone has a good topical lotion, prescription or other, that can help with the reddening an the scarring?

    Default daily moisturizer

I am new to the forums, also.
The only moisturizer I have been able to use is Theraplex Hydrolotion Daily Skin Moisturizer. But it doesn't have sunscreen. I'd love to find one with some sun protection, but so far everything I have tried gives my skin the creepy-crawlies.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking of non-prescription when I posted about Theraplex. But I do use prescription Prascion RA - it's a sulfur-related cream. It has sunscreen, but I don't use it every day. For me it is very drying. Plus my cat hates the smell and it makes my necklaces smell funky. It does seem to reduce the redness and breakouts, though.

    Default Theraplex + Megan Gale

I LOVE theraplex clearlotion! I always use it as a nighttime moisturizer, and for day I alternate between theraplex (when skin is very dry) and clinique redness solutions daily relief cream (when not dry), which I layer underneath tinted megan gale invisible zinc. I have been using invisible zinc on a regular basis now, and find it to be amazing at both hiding diffuse redness as well as calming down inflammation. Paired w/ redlight 10 min/day and oracea, I am a happy camper

PS: I live in the US and have found epharmacy.com to have the cheapest shipping on invisible zinc.

A few things I've found very helpful in the past year are:

    1. Facial bar soap from Clinique (best clean and nice moisture!)
    2. Eucerin Redness relief facial clenaser

    3. Almay clear complexion powder makeup, put on with a big brush (very good cover while being sheer)
    4. Adult Acnomel (bought at RiteAid) - this has 2% Resorcinol and 8% Sulfer.
It's tinted, so provides coverup as well. I just started this so I don't know how well it will do on redness, but it has smoothed my skin wonderfully! The Resorcinol acts as salicylic acid does, by sloughing off dead skin. I have reduced redness on my cheeks, but I'm waiting to see how it does on the nose. Swelling went away in one day.

    Hope it helps!

I like Eucerin Redness Relief Night Cream. I buy it at Walgreens.
