Default Does burning precede new redness?

    Can anyone answer this?

My rosacea was confined to my cheeks and ears for the first few years. Then my eyes got crappy last year. About six months ago my forhead started getting a burning sensation when I was hot or cold or sweaty. But it remained pale. Recently I've noticed red blotches on my forehead when its burning...
Is the burning sensations a warning that an unaffected area is becoming affected..? And what can be done to stop it before it gets totally red and bumpy..?

    thanks
    take care,

    John

Well I have not heard it mention as such. People more usually talk about burning in relation to flushing. Could the redness on your forehead be seb derm?

I get burning whether I am flushing or not. Burning is indicative of inflammation.
For many months my forehead has been pretty much ok, but recently, the burning began there. And within the last few days, redness has appeared as well.
So, like you jhnnygdy, it seems that the beast is spreading.
I have no clue as to how to halt this.
    Previous Numerous IPL.
Supplements: Niacinamide, Vit K2, low D3, Moderate Dose Vit C, Iodine, Taurine, Magnesium. Very low dose B's. Low dose zinc (to correct deficiency).
Skin Care: No Cleanser, ZZ cream mixed with Niacinamide gel 4% and LMW HA.

Treating for gut dysbiosis under specialist care. (This is helping).
Previous GAPS diet. Testing tolerance of resistant starch.
Fermented Foods. 2 to 3 days per week, Intermittent fasting -16-18 hours.

    Hi guys,

My face sometimes starts burning before I flush though more usually I flush and it starts burning. What has helped me re the burning has been the red light. It is not a cureall unfortunately but when I have a bad burning spell if I do the red light consistently it does give me some relief. Which makes sense with what you said Jenny. That burning indicates inflammation and red light calms inflammation.

    Best wishes,
    Melissa

This would describe me......I almost constantly for over 10yrs have some measure of burning present in my face (entire face) and I do believe this is a stage of rosacea....further down the pike....as some may only have it when flushing others will have it at all times and permanent redness to go with it....chronic state of inflammation.....

    Darlene,
Do you still do the red light and if so do you experience any relief from the burning using it?

Yes I am using my red light for 20mins per day (sometimes 25mins) and NO it never helps with burning/stinging. BUT it does help alot on my p&p's.....I don't break out nearly as much as before and the last 9days not using it has been a bummer cause I am getting lots of bumps! I will probably go back to it tomorrow but my hormones + not doing the red light makes my break outs much worse.
