    Default Brisbane

Hi, I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on a good dermatologist in the Brisbane area?

You will be hard pressed to find anyone and even if you can, it will be a lengthy wait.

After doing the rounds, I am currently seeing Dr Davin Lim at Westside Dermatology, in Taringa.
I got in via the urgent route. Took a couple of weeks, but if you are on the regular waiting list, it is months.
His colleague, Dr Belle, is booked up still May/August ( or more), next year.

Don't bother with Dr Noakes ( in the city), he wouldn't know rosacea if he fell over it.
His partner, Dr Wagner may be better. I have no first hand experience.

I found Dr Lim to be astute and was the first person in Australia to actually examine me. He saw the rosacea for what it was.
It was such a relief talking to someone, whom I didn't regard as 'the student'.
On the downside, regarding my personal case, he didn't have much to offer me, as I am a severe case. It may be different for other people.
I felt rather let down that he didn't discuss options with me, giving the impression that I had to return to him each time I wanted to know something else.
I like my cards laid out on the table, but maybe he didn't realise this.

On the downside he is a devil to get a hold of and after six weeks of trying to get him to return a call regarding a medication difficulty, I gave up.
I will probably seek his advice again, as despite this problem, he is the best I have consulted so far.

I would never have IPL with any dermatologist in Brisbane as they are inexperienced and don't have Vasculight's of Lumenis One's.

I go to someone else for IPL. He doesn't manage medication for his patients though.
    Previous Numerous IPL.
Supplements: Niacinamide, Vit K2, low D3, Vit A. Moderate Dose Vit C, Iodine, Taurine, Magnesium. Very low dose B's. Low dose zinc (to correct deficiency).
Skin Care: No Cleanser, ZZ cream mixed with Niacinamide gel 4% and LMW HA 2%, ethyl ascorbate 2%.

Treating for gut dysbiosis.(This is helping).
Previous GAPS diet. Have now introduced lots of fibre.
Fermented Foods. Intermittent fasting -16-18 hours.
Oral Colostrum. Helps reduce food reactions.

    Hi, DragonAsh,

I know you were looking for a dermatologist but check out this group. I went to the Capalaba clinic. They really know what they're talking about.

'Psoriasis and Skin Clinic' in Brisbane (

I've been doing a bit of posting about my own experience. You may find it interesting...

I've also started a facebook group, your welcome to join (sorry the info will be a little repetitive). There are photos there too to show the big change over 6 months.

Thumbs up Thanks for the reply

Thanks kindly for your reply, I will look into the clinic. I do not suffer from Rosacea but suffer from Seborrheic Dermatitis and from a brief glance at their webpage, they also treat this condition.

I had also previously seen your before and after shots in the photos section and let me also say how wonderful your skin is looking!!!
