    Default "Beating Rosacea" book

    Hello

After treating my "folliculitis" and "acne" for a few years making rosacea worse, I'm finally convinced it is rosacea after all. I am now in the stage of collecting info about it and learning as much as I can. I read that dr. Nase's book, "Beating rosacea" is the best resource (I also read a bit about the latest events around him, but as far as I understood the book remains a great resource).

The problem is that amazon.com doesn't deliver that book in my country, although I successfully received the "Rosacea diet" from the same website. Also dr. Nase didn't reply to email, so I am really lost here - I don't know how to get that book, and I really want it.

Can you please help me? Do you know another source?

    Thanks!

IMO, everything in that book worth anything is widely available here or on the web. There is nothing in that book worth plunking down any money for. If you have a couple of hours and access to a computer, you have everything you need.

I would agree with rob. Anyway the book is a little out of date now as things have moved on.

Not to mention that I hate the thought of giving money or credibility to that guy.

    Hello Rob

Unfortunately some people who stumble across his website will still get suckered in by his claims. Just by chance I noticed that Nase had updated his site last week after a long period of inactivity but nothing thankfully concerning this so called Indiana Treatment Centre or these two dermatologists who he claimed were working in partnership with him. Maybe to use his words "he is still in the saddle" perhaps learning how to switch the laser on Disgracefully he is still claiming to be in remission and a link takes you to his faked pictures.

I suspect as most professional people now realise the truth about him, then nobody with any sense would want to be connected with Nase in fear of their own reputation being ruined by his lies. What is interesting is that he is now back plugging his out of date book and his rip off consultancy business. What really gets up my nose is this statement he makes about the term "rosacea specialist"

"The term "Rosacea Specialist" now inundates the Internet and confuses many rosacea sufferers looking for correct information on rosacea research and rosacea treatment."

Lets just correct this shall we. There is no such term, qualification or anything else around describing a "rosacea specialist". It doesn't exist other than in Nase's warped mind and of course if you use the link provided it conviently takes you to the only "rosacea specialist" it appears in the universe which is Nase. To anybody reading this, looking for rosacea treatment please do go and see a competent dermatologist, ideally with a proven track record of treating rosacea and do not be fooled by these quacks that are around, especially advertising on the internet.

It's interesting that he is plugging his book again and I suspect that this could be his only remaining source of income. Reading through the list of old reviews I bet there are a few names on there who now wish they could remove what they said. Nase claims a perfect 5 stars on Amazon reviews but that is wrong because the last review made two years ago was not so complimentary about the book. Use this link and scroll down to the last review.

Amazon.com: Beating Rosacea: Vascular, Ocular...Amazon.com: Beating Rosacea: Vascular, Ocular...

A comment has been added by a reader of this review which fits neatly in with this thread:

"Woody Green's comments are absolutely right. I must add that Dr. Nase is not a medical doctor and his criticism of glycolic acids and tretinoin/Retin A are unsupported. Readers would do better to use Google scholar to find out what current medical studies show does and does not work in treating rosacea. Laser treatment, particularly IPL, is great if you can afford it."

As has been said why buy an expensive out of date book, when you can find out everything you need you know on the internet including support groups like this one.

    Thanks

    Peter

Actually, Peter, Geoffrey Nase has updated his site to include an option that you can pay $175 to have him do a treatment plan for rosacea.

    You can pay thru paypal.

This is dangerous - he is not a Physician, and has no business making diagnosis of any kind.

    Hello Millie

Yes I did see that and also the money back guarantee which in real life will never happen.

Donít you think that given his so called expertise and all these hundreds of consults that he claims to have undertaken over the last 7 years, then he would have a list of genuine satisfied customers sending in their testimonials? Itís just like asking if anybody has met him or even seen his latest photograph, read his weekly, quarterly reports or seen all these articles in "Top notch International Journals" he has supposedly written Ė the answer is always a Ė NO.

This latest update is a clear sign to me that he is struggling because of his reputation and he is trying to fall back on a dated book and telephone consultations. You are correct - he is dangerous and it's important that people with rosacea who use the internet are kept aware of this.

Sooner rather than later it looks like he will have to try and find himself a real job if he wants to pay those bills.

    Thanks

    Peter

    Hello Lookout

Sounds dumb to us but then fortunately we know his history. Nase talks the talk as far as rosacea is concerned despite most of it being lies. A gullible newbie or a rosacea sufferer desperate for some relief can easily fall for his charms and pay him money, as was demonstrated with the RTIT fiasco.

I always follow the old maxim that if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Apply this where Nase is concerned and you canít go wrong.

    Thanks

    Peter
