Well I've been rescheduled to next Monday. I'm at odds as to why my skin has all of a sudden gone nuts, it's one of the worst flares I've had in a long time. My skin wont even tolerate moisturiser at this point. However it has cleared up slightly so hopefully over the weekend it can can heal itself reasonably.

What is Afrin and what type of rebound are we talking here?

Here is the thread that explains what Afrin is and how it may be helpful to you.

Well people are recommending this because it will make you less red for a few hours
and they are only recommending it this one time (hopefully)
but nobody knows the long term effects.

It's up to you if you want to become another test subject - It's VERY experimental!
and you may have a rebound effect that is worse than your original redness.

That's true. I still have a vertical red line on my left cheek from using it. Even my recent IPL didn't get rid of it, although it lightened it.

Awesome - well done (I feel vicariously relieved). So did you reschedule your interview for a better time of day (i.e. mornings) or did things just work out on their own? Did you use any drugs/herbs etc.?

I switched off Aqueous cream which I was using for a mild cleanser and moisturiser and noticed an immediate change for the better, I have a feeling my skin may have grown irritated from using it over time. My skin was really dry though since I had no moisture so I used sorbolene cream sparingly and everything cleared up nicely with a few areas still remaining red and dry but nothing major enough to hurt my confidence

It's kinda strange though, I had really good success with something as simple as aqueous cream, I'm talking significant reduction in redness and flaking (however flushing remained) and now the sorbolene has done the same thing. :s
