    Default Is this ocular rosacea?

Well, I have something going on with my eyes. I'm not sure if it's ocular rosacea or something completely unrealted.

For a while now, even though I sleep really well, I've had a fluidy feeling round my eyes. If I close them, it feels fluidy between the top of my eye lid and my eye socket. Also, I have a very puffy feeling underneath and a dry feeling inside. It feels like the back of my eyeballs are bruised. Sometimes I have to close them tightly.

I get headaches with this, right through my eyes and to my temples. Are these migranes? I don't even know if I've had one. I know it's common to have blurred vision with them, but I've never experienced that. I can put up with being in the light, but I don't like it when I feel this way. Also, my head feels very heavy and tired.

I'm beginning a dose of antibiotics today for my rosacea. The doctor said my eyes seemed fine but they could be related.

    I'm confused.

Could it possibly be sinus related?
It sounds like a sinus issue. The heavy fluidy feeling, the soreness etc.

Try a sinus aspirin next time it happens and see if it helps. I like sudafed with pseudoephedrine for sinus HA's. You need to get that behind the pharmacy counter even though it is OTC.

If it is bad and you have a sinus infection you should get that treated with antibiotics though.

    Best wishes,
    Melissa

Yeah, that's what I thought it was! I've had it for a long time now. I have several sinus sprays actually, one of them (that I was given last) is Flixonase Allergy Spray which one of the problems it's supposed to help is "nasel congestion and associated sinus discomfort."

I'm on antibiotics at the moment. Do you think it'll be ok to take with them??

    Here's the ingredients...

Microcrystalline cellose, sodium carboxymenthyl-cullulose, dextrose, polysorbate 80, purified water, dilute hydrochloric acid, preservatives: benzalkonium chloride, phenylethlalcohol.

Not that I have a clue what any of those are LOL.

Hmmm, I can't find anything on the box or in the info leaflet with it, so maybe it's ok to use.

    Thanks Melissa!

For severe sinus infections antibiotics might be prescribed.
If you get frequent sinus ha's I would make an appt with an ENT for eval and treatment.

Some people swear by something called a "netty pot" to clear them out. I have no experience with it but have heard about it.

Did you have the rosacea before using the nasal sprays
wondering if some of them may be causing trouble ?

Yeah, it's a steroid one. Is that ok to use with rosacea? I know you can't apply them topically...? As in, steroid cream etc, but I don't know if the nasel spray would be alright.

    Hi RagDoll,

It would be probably be a long shot if it did cause all the rosacea trouble
and would think any problems from long term use
would be limited to just your nose area.

Just another possible trigger for you to check into
(as if you needed another to worry about)
