    Default Pustules?

Is this a pustule? - small (talking like pin size), with a white "pointy" part that kinda reflects in the light (if you get what i mean), and sometimes with red around it. Lately i've been getting more of these. The sharpe white centre is what throws me off. And how they're not large. I can get teeny tiny ones on my chin and around my nose too.

I know the tyypes you are describing...I get them sometimes too. They are small..pinsized white center slightly raised with some red inflamed area around it...the whole thing about 5mm in diameter...they go away quickly for me usually.

Are these papules and pustules??? What is the difference between the two??

Sounds like pustules. Pustules have a tiny white center and papules are red bumps. I hate them both a lot! Sometimes they are tiny and sometimes they are not and are a result of leakage from blood vessels caused by inflammation.

I have these all over my face - to the point where my skin feels like sandpaper. I'm currently undergoing high-intensity LED treatment for it... the red light is supposed to be good for inflammation, but I don't know if it will work for me or not. It takes a long time. I agree that they're very annoying!

That's true. BP was too harsh for me, but it works for some people.

Me too, I can't use BP anymore. I remember that years ago it was the only thing that kept my skin clear for acne but the Rosacea pustules I get will get worse with acne medications. Sometimes I use proactiv solution sulfur mask. Is the Metrogel supposed to get rid of pustules as well? It seems to work for some but not for otherswhy is that? My chin is completely clear since I started with the metrogel but the area under my eyes NOT.

Would a gentle salicylic acid cleanser help? Claudia has had great results from Olay Anti-Aging Anti-Blemish Cleanser (with 2% SA). I've been using it for about a week: no improvement in my blackheads yet, which I know will take some time, but no irritation either. OTOH, Melissa couldn't tolerate it at all. But it's pretty cheap and lasts for a while, so it might be worth a try. I know that if I couldn't use it on my face that it would be good for my back, which still breaks out.
