In Canada you need to be referred to a dermatologist by your family (primary care) doctor. So go to your doctor and ask for a referral, he/she might know of a dermatologist that's good or specializes in your condition.

That being said, I was referred to Dr. Tullis (he's located in Burnaby, at Metrotown). He seems nice enough, listens to and answers my questions, doesn't "rush" me through...

Hard to say if anything's working. I suspect not, but who knows? Maybe if I wasn't using anything it would've progressed further from where it is now!

I originally went to see him regarding seborrheic dermatitis, in December, before rosacea had started to become evident. A month later, my flushing had become more persistent and noticeable. When I went for a follow-up, he said I might have a little bit of rosacea and precribed Metrocream. I used that for a couple months, and went back in March. My flushing hadn't improved at all on the metrocream, so he mentioned that it doesn't work for everyone, and since then I've been on 250mg Tetracycline twice a day. I don't think my flushing has gotten WORSE since then, but it hasn't really gotten better either.

...anyways, we also discussed the laser option and he suggested I go to Arbutus Laser Clinic (Dr. Boey) in Kitsilano if I decide to go that route. Apparently he's really good. So I've been considering that lately.

Unfortunately I don't think there's much more a dermatologist can do for us than tell us the facts, try the different meds available, and hope for the best.
