Hey not so quick as perhaps it was just an automatic generated reply? Give it another go and re-submit your story as a news tip with a common link to the one they have put up about the news reader, being conned with the laser treatment side effects. If they still don't respond I'm sure you can find someone else to run with it, especially with all this information currently around about the medical frauds and conmen.

Go for it and give them hell. I would

    Default hello

Hi, I am new to posting, so hopefully I am going about this correctly! I wanted to share with everyone that I called and spoke with Dr. Nase, who patiently answered all of my questions. I am a registered nurse, and was very impressed with his knowledge of rosacea as a vascular disease and its treatment.

I received 5 genesis treatments from a very reputable derm, (with no positive results), and am very interested in the Rosacea Institute of Texas, but have not been able to find individuals who have been treated at this facility. There have been many treatments performed over the last year at this facility, and it seems as if there must be people who want to share their experiences. Could someone let me know if there is a site where people have posted reviews?

    Thanks so much, Erika

    Hi Erika

I believe you will find that the opening post in this thread will give you the most comprehensive patient feedback currently available on-line about the institute. If you want more details from those patients, perhaps you could PM or e-mail them.

Best of luck with what you decide to do. Please up-date us if you go for treatment there.

    Thanks Jen,

I will be going to the Institute for a consult and possibly treatment in the next couple of months, and will post an update.

When I was receiving Genesis treatments, the nurse told me that frequently, after people have successfully treated their rosacea, they no longer post. I believe this may be why their is a lack of info available.

    Thanks,
    Erika

    Hi Erika and welcome.
I sure would post if I found something that greatly helped my rosacea to let others who are suffering know.
I think that the people who went to the Institute unfortunately did not get the results they were looking for.
I wish you the best of luck and please do let us know how you get on. Either way. My fingers are crossed for your successful treatment and relief of your symptoms.

    Best wishes,
    Melissa

    Hi Erika,

I have found terrific success in treating my rosacea, and post here to share what I have learned with others. You will find that's the case with many long-term posters. David Pascoe at the Rosacea Support Group and Rosacea Support Group forum is most diligent in keeping current on treatment and is generous with his time and energy. You will find links to many different Rosacea sites through the link below the title masthead "New Posts To All Rosacea Groups"

Most of us still have bad episodes though, there is no cure presently.

I look forward to reading about your experience with the institute. Most of what we've read has been by way of fake postings, which is too bad because it would be great to hear from a real person with no agenda except their own skin's improvement. Folks with rosacea may feel quite desperate and finding a good place for treatment can feel like a God-send.

Yes, Nase has a broad knowledge-base on Rosacea and is a self-appointed expert on the subject. However, it is important to note that he is a paid consultant for the institute who gets commission for driving customers to the place. And, that he has been more effusive in his outcome prognosis then the staff at the institute. So it might be prudent to discuss any statistical information or positive outcome promises with the staff before you spend your money.

    Good luck and best wishes!

    Hi Erika,

Do you know if Dr. Nase will be treating you at the clinic? I heard he doesn't actually live in Texas.

Also, don't you find it strange that patients would tell the nurse that they no longer need to post online because the laser treatment was a success? Its as if the patient comes back in for a follow up and says "Thanks for curing my rosacea. I no longer need to post to The Rosacea Forum any longer!!".

    Odd ...

    Hello Erica

Welcome to the Forum and good luck in your quest for a treatment that helps you.

With Geoffrey Nase PhD let me get straight to the point. He is a fraud, a known cancer faker and a compulsive liar. He may well sound knowledgeable about rosacea but that doesn’t mean he is aware of the best treatments to suit you, especially with just a telephone consultation. Ask to meet him in person at the Texas Clinic. He will not agree because as people who have met Nase or watched him giving evidence on video tape two years ago attest, he still has rosacea despite the faked photographs on his web site where he claims to be in remission.

As already mentioned his so called titles are self-awarded and there is no such thing as a "rosacea specialist" or "rosacea consultant" in the real world.

If you go to the start of this thread you will see some fictitious characters who are Nase using various aliases to deceive and trick innocent rosacea sufferers. This Forum is littered with these Nase characters and that’s one of the reasons why he was banned. He was also banned from the other rosacea boards but still makes appearances under different names, usually talking up the benefits of ETS surgery. You see Nielson is an ETS surgeon and the Texas Clinic is primarily an ETS clinic.

Go onto this site if you want to know more about the real Nase:

    http://debunkingnase.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

Before you part with any money find out more about Nase and the RTIT. Ask for proof and case histories of patients successfully treated for rosacea, together with contact names where available. Despite the HIPPA laws, most genuine people who have achieved remission with this condition are usually more than happy to tell others about their experience. Beware of people claiming amazing success but whose stories just do not add up, or those who tell you Nase is an amazing human being because they always turn out to be complete fakes. A good example was “Maria Cappolla” later proven to be Nase himself in disguise yet again.

    http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?t=10498&highlight=cappolla

My advice as always is to try and find a competent dermatologist with an interest in rosacea, together with a proven track record of treating the condition. Not easy but there are some really good people around if you are prepared to do your homework. Laser treatment is an option but might not be the best one for you, so try and get advice from a “real acknowledged expert” and not someone who just thinks he is.

    Regards

    Peter

    Hello,

Wow, there does not seem to be much hope for successful treatment at the Institute! I do realize how difficult rosacea is to treat, and that every person will respond differently. Not everone will have positive results, but I am excited about what the Institute has to offer. Rosacea truly is a vascular disease, and I believe that the Institute understands this. I will be heading there next month, and will be conservative in my treatments. I am a bit concerned about the brown spots created when the feeder veins are destroyed. During my consult I was told these spots, which you can see on the Institute's website, fade quickly, but I would hate to have to return to work with them.

According to the Institute, they use a new Genesis laser, combined with other techniques, which are able to treat all 4 layers. According to their website, they are currently the only providers able to treat all layers. I am hoping that my previous treatments were too superficial to destroy the deep "feeder veins", and will have more success with this new system. I am also very interested in the use of Botox to help treat flushing rosacea. Has anyone here sought this treatment?

Thanks for all of the wonderful support! I hope everyone has a happy Monday!
