    Default rosaceans I need help

I'm a 29-year-old guy who has suffered from bad skin problems for many years. I used to think it was acne, but six months ago I was diagnosed with rosacea. I started out with metrogel which had no effect after a month. I had a laser treatment to remove a spot on my upper cheek. I've tried so many product lines, including Murad's Redness Therapy, IS Clinical, and most recently Dr. Weil for Origins. I've done almost everything recommended on these boards dietary and vitamins-wise, and I am currently vegan (only partly due to rosacea). Nothing seems to help. My skin is constantly inflamed, full of acne-like breakouts and bumpy all over. I'm also incredibly sensitive to shaving and get ingrown hairs all the time. Here is what I'm currently using-
Dr. Weil for Origins cleanser, serum, and moisturizer
Smart Shave shaving cream with a Merkur Futur single-blade razor
    Clinique acne solutions concealer
I look so bad that I can't walk on the street without someone commenting on my terrible skin. Does anyone have any advice?

    Romulus,
Have you considered taking low-dose Accutane?

Hi Romulus and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry as this is a bit off topic (considering this is in the topicals section) but have you read through the low level light section? Many people find relief with red light therapy.

    Best of luck!

What do you think of the Dr. Weil Origins Mushroom stuff?

I saw that in the store the other week but I've never seen anything to indicate any type of mushroom extract would be good for the skin (although I do trust Dr. Weil and think he is a very good physician).

Plus it's pretty steep price wise...

The Weil Plantidote products have actually been the best I've used for rosacea. It is calming and reduces the redness, but not enough to make it go away.
Speaking of steep prices, the dermatologist I saw said laser treatments for rosacea were $1000 a pop with a series of 3-4 required. That's a bit out of my range.
I'm seeing a doctor Wednesday and will discuss Finacea and low-dosage Accutane.
Thank you all for your comments.

Have you tried taking any antihistamines such as clarityn. If I get very papules I find that this helps to calm it.

Besides this I wonder if you would consider antibioitcs to get things under control.

At $1000 the laser sounds very expensive. It might be worth shopping around.

Are you really sure that the Weils stuff is not aggravating it at all? What are the main ingredients?

Thanks for the tip on Clarityn.
I don't have access to the ingredients in the Weil for Origins products, but they've helped more than anything else. Not enough, though. Now I'm thinking of trying B. Kamins.
