that type of behaviour is not mentally healthy. i realize that rosacea can disrupt(or ruin) many facets of life, but you have to keep on going. i avoid many of those things that you listed, but i still have to go to work/school. there is no way around it. you need to learn how to cope or your gonna have more problems then just rosacea.

    Hi,

You're going through a rough time and you need friends more than ever.
Studies show that having a strong social network helps people cope with traumatic life events and such.

I understand the no alcohol, no sun, and avoiding spicy foods but the other stuff on your list needs to be revised. For your emotional well being you need to rethink your list.

I understand how you feel. We all do.
You just have to adapt but not so extreme.

A big hug to you and hang in there.
Please reevaluate and maybe talking to a therapist would be helpful.

    All the best,
    Melissa

There are many ways to look at rosacea and at times we all feel the same way that you do. I try not to dwell on the things I have given up.

You say that you are 50% improved. Well thats an excellant start, perhaps now you can begin to reintroduce some things. If you dont want to go out why not get your some friends over to your place? Or just call someone up that you havent spoken to in a while?

When I felt as bad as you do I went to my doctor, he prescribed an antidpressant that really helped me sort my head out and make me stop focusing on my rosacea. If you arent doing anything but sitting indoors and trying not to flush then it all goes around in your head.

I still have negative days but try to remember the things I would miss if I gave it all up.... new music that I would never hear, a beautiful sunny day, er you get the picture.

I tend to be a more practical person and focus on this to give me hope. What medication/topicals are you using?

    Big hugs

If you would like to talk more then PM me.

Lycaon...I just want to take you into my arms and give you a big hug.

Besides battling your Rosacea...you also have to live.

Do you have pics on the forum?

OMG, I read that post and thought how very sad. Please do not live your life like this. Why do you think not doing anything and having no friends is good? Giving you a big hugggggg..Jenn

    Hey Lycaon,

I remember earlier in the year you said you were starting IPL/Yag, did you ever start?? and did it help at all??

Friends don't care if you have skin problems... in fact, no one wants perfect friends....

    hi lycaon,

I'm sorry to hear about your rosacea. I know exactly what you mean. I feel the exact same way. I see you are from the UK... is there any way you could go see dr. patterson or dr. crouch? From what I've heard, they are VERY good and would probably know what to do.
