I have to look up those big words.

I always suspected molds. I have a tough time with store bought dry spices and I assumed it was the same thing.

My naturopath told me that even though I tested positive for chocolate allergy that I may not be allergic to the chocolate but to the... BUG PARTS! She explained that the cocoa beans were dried out on roadsides and that there is a higher allowance for insect bits than most anything else. I don't know if this is true, but it turned me off chocolate for a while there. Not for good though.

eeeeew bug parts! I'm probably sensitive to mold on dried foods, too. I try to buy fresh herbs, or at least freeze dried, in order to avoid mold.

    Aaawwwwww. Those are so sweet!

That's exactly how they are here, it's just impossible to get a picture of it. I don't know why the two species are always together, they must provide some sort of 'assist' -- either with security or foraging.

Thank you so much for posting those!!

I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas CountChocula!

Which comprises of all my shrubs, flowers, trees and such. They do enjoy the occassional weed though so it isn't all bad. Last house had bears (cinnamon bears at that!). I didn't like that at all. But, they kept that deer away so I was able to grow roses and perennials. That's an odd sort of consolation though. :?

    TP,

Is that your house ontop of the cliff in that photo? You know, the one with the lake?

If so, then I have gone from jealous to JEALOUS!

Ya, that's the last abode. The backyard was the Straight of Georgia actually. We looked over to Vancouver Island, 20+ km away, exactly to the spot we live now. It's kinda of a neat coincidence. I hated living on the water though, it was always windy and at night it was very very very dark and that was freaky. And we had bears. Now I have golfers, they are not scary -- only annoying. :?
