If I remember I would have the treatment on Thursday and be red and swollen badly till the sunday but by the Monday I would be on its way down. The swelling would peak by about day two, I remember one time my eye almost closed up.

Today I am looking alot less red thank goodness.

I'm sure that the swelling will begin to subside soon, just curl up in front of the telly and relax.

    Sarah

Thanks Sarah, i'm glad to hear that, I was just starting to wonder if i am going to look normal enough to go to work Monday. Hopefully i wake up tomorrow morning and it's starting to go down rather than getting worse!
In the meantime it's the perfect excuse to curl up on the couch with my dogs and read all night

Just curious how much u pay for a session with V-beam?

I got astronomical bill from the dermatology department of the hospital where I had it done: $2000.

The annoying part is that it didnt even work ....

I woke up this morning and the swelling looks much better. It's still there but a lot less pronounced. I think by tomorrow i should look pretty normal again.

Wow $2000 is a lot! Mine cost $250 (Aus).

    I'd question that bill.

    Happiness is a choice.

No for a single session. I am going to dispute the bill - it is so outrageous that even the insurance refuses to pay part of it. I can't understand why the medical system in USA thinks that they can charge us whatever they want.

That is just taking the p*ss!! I would get a number of comparitive quotes from other laser centres and show them that this is way above any reasonable cost.

Before you had it done did they give any indication as to what the expected cost was going to be?

Does America have any kind of medical ombudsman that you could appeal too? If there is then they should be able to help you.

What were you told prior to having it?

I knew that the price was high but since the insurance was paying 80% I figured that even if it's $1000 that's at most $200 which is normal cost. The insurance highest price is $1600 so I have to cover the rest $400 plus 80% of $1600. I am not letting that slide don't worry
