Candela is the manufacturer of the Vbeam PDL laser. Simplifying a bit, Perfecta is Vbeam V2 and Prima is Vbeam V3. The Prima is able to delivery more energy. Not many practices have the Prima yet....
No experience with them, and too dangerous to try in my opinion. And at those prices you could hire a dermatologist for a course of treatments.
Can you search for the old thread? Let me know if you can't find it.

I don't have much time to post right now, but I think I posted in a thread about this in 2018. Overall I like him and think he takes the correct, cautious approach, but I would avoid YAG entirely and...
I can't advise about the specific side effect you're getting, but I agree with the suggestion to stay away from Nd:YAG. I think it made my flushing worse, it's not the optimal wavelength for...
Not sure sorry. My doctor recommends benadryl and paracetamol post Vbeam, but if you have actual burns from IPL that's different.

Not normal in my experience and one of the risks of IPL. I would follow up with the dermatologist who performed this as soon as possible to see if you need any post treatment care

I have noticed that it takes me longer to heal after each treatment, but the doctor I've been seeing uses more energy on each treatment. The latest time he said he used the maximum settings, and I...
I hope it's not permanent and would suggest seeing a dermatologist who is familiar with light-based treatment to evaluate what went wrong. Meanwhile I would try an antihistamine and...
Yeah, there was a very popular doctor in the UK who had a practice combining Nd:YAG and IPL for rosacea, and a few doctors have copied him. I think the YAG probably caused angiogenesis, and Vbeam is...
sorry, you're right. the picture is the perfecta
So you got treated with the original Vbeam machine, not the Vbeam Perfecta (version 2) or Vbeam Prima (version 3)?
That's an interesting point. I've seen a chart from Candela showing peak hemoglobin absorption around 595 nm, but hadn't considered other issues.
One was 660nm with 1250 mcd LEDs.
The other was the Britebox, which at the time (I don't know if it has changed) was 633nm + 830nm (infrared).
I also got LED treatment from another unit in a...
Glad to see you're improving. Can you explain why you might try the Cutera next?
Looks like a bot to me.
LED therapy with red lights also seemed to make me flare up.
You might want to ask Martin Steinhoff or some of the other doctors at UCSF dermatology. They wrote a paper about this condition some years ago. Maybe they'll know of a doctor closer to you....
I would prefer Vbeam as it uses a specific wavelength that targets the vessels, whereas IPL is a broad spectrum light that will get absorbed by all tissues. The IPL can damage melanin and hair...
I'd suggest consulting a dermatologist about the cause of the damage and what to do about it.
It sounds like there might be something wrong with the equipment, the operator, or both. What kind of...
I'm not sure if the Niacid has enough tranexamic acid to help with flushing and persistent redness.
I think it might be worth buying tranexamic acid powder instead of crushing the pills. Your face...
What was your method for applying the tranexamic acid? It can be difficult to get it to soak in.
I did have good luck with the Lumenis One for telangiectasia, but if you had some damage from IPL...
I haven't heard of it but I'm avoiding IPL because it's broad-spectrum light, which will target more tissues than Vbeam. If I recall correctly, you tried Vbeam before and got what sounds like...
What machine are you buying? I don't see how it's possible to do IPL on yourself safely or productively either. You need to use precise settings, observe how the skin is responding, carefully target...
