Yes a few people on here have said Soolantra is not available in there Country yet . Good choice . I would try the pills first too . The redness in my face is drastically reduced from the sulfur wash I have been using . Which is confusing me because I thought with Rosacea , the only thing that can get rid of the redness are ULT treatments ? Or things like ULT . My redness does not seem to be permanent . And I was under the assumption that with Rosacea type 1 , the redness stays . The derm I am seeing now said if I did have Rosacea it was type 1 . unsure:

As it seems, it depends on the cause of the redness. If the cause is a fungus or demodex or other microorganisms and they have not done permanent damage to the blood vessels, the redness is reversible by eliminating the microbes.

Aww ok I see . So fungus can cause permanent damage too ??? Never knew this . I was under the assumption it was just from demodex . Does this mean the sulfur / sulfacetamide wash is eliminating the microbes ? I wonder if I will have to use this wash everyday now for the rest of my life . ? Or only use it during a flare up ?

It depends. When/if you see that all your symptoms are gone,you can try tapering off whatever treatment you use-every other day,once a week,once in two weeks,once a month,etc.
I don't know if fungi cause permanent vessel damage,probably not. It was just an example.

Thank you Maria !! Well I do hope all my symptoms go away . Then I will try cutting back and see how my skin responds . Right now I still have symptoms so I feel using the wash 2 x daily is what I need . Do you ever moisturizer at night or during the day ? I know you said you do not wear make up or sunscreens . If you do moisturizer which one do you use ?

I don't moisturize,because demodex feeds on moisturizers. I was on and off tto/sweet almond oil 50% at night untill recently,so I didn't feel the need for further moisture.

Is your skin normally dry or oily ? How did that combo of tto and sweet almond oil work for your skin ? I feel the sulfur makes my skin a little dry so I am torn . I dont want to moisturizer like you said because of the demodex . But I also dont want my skin to dry . Not sure what to do . Any thoughts ?

My skin became dry after demodex infestation. The combo didn't dry it at all, it seems to balance my skin's moisture. As to the sulfur, it is drying mainly in the beginning, but after some days the dryness usually subsides. If your skin is only a little dry, don't moisturize.

Maria St, are your eyes still in remission?

I stopped the tto 2 weeks ago and even neglected the eyelids washes. My eyes are slightly dry since then, but not that much as to make artificial tears necessary.
Today my ophthalmologist told me I have visible demodex traces on my upper eye margins again, I told her I was going to start oral ivermectin and she wasn't against it. She insisted on me using artificial tears again.
