    Hello to all,

Three years now since I started this thread. The miracle cure is still working pretty well for me. I’m sad to see that there aren’t many people reporting similar results. I just can’t believe that it only works for a few people. It is quite clear for me that it reduces inflammation significantly. I don’t take any other medication to treat my rosacea, absolutely nothing else, so for me there is no better proof to establish how efficient lutein/zeaxanthin are.

    Best regards,

    Marcello

Hi Marcello, glad to hear you found something that helps! I've never heard of this before, is it a supplement? Where do you buy yours and at what dosage? Any side effects?

      • Does anyone have recent experiences with this? I'm considering trying it.

Yes, give it a go! It's a very common supplement and very cheap and easy compared to a lot of the treatments proposed on here. I think my bottle cost me around $20. It didn't work for me but it was probably good for my eyes!

            • I've been taking the Lutein for a few weeks. I def. didn't see any immediate miracle cure, but at the moment, my skin is pretty calm. I can't say yet if it's a regular temporary remission or a result of Lutein.

              • I've joined this forum just to add to this thread and to support Marcello's findings! I've had type 2 rosacea for around 6 years. Worse though are my eye issues, with flare-ups of episcleritis and scleritis. I have had to take a lot of steroid drops for a recent flare. I researched eye supplements to protect my eyes from the side-effects of the steroid drops, so started taking Life Extension Macuguard with Saffron and Astaxanthin, one capsule a day. Included in the ingredients are 10mg lutein and 4mg zeaxanthin, and also 6mg astaxanthin.

After a month I noticed, to my surprise, that my skin was completely smooth, the best it had been in years. It is still clear now, 4 months later. I was not expecting an effect on my skin and this was a chance discovery. I googled to see if there was a known link between eye supplements and rosacea, and was really interested to find this thread. I had put the skin improvement down to the astaxanthin, but it could just as well be the lutein and zeaxanthin.

I take the supplement every evening along with my omega 3 supplement, so I'm teaming it up with a fat as recommended by Marcello. However the improvement is definitely not down to the omega 3 alone, because I've been taking that for years with no impact. There is nothing else that can account for the sudden improvement in my rosacea, other than the eye supplement. I've now recommended it to my daughter and my sister, who also both have rosacea.

                Hope this info helps someone.

                • I will be giving this a little go, not expecting great things, but I always love the idea of a natural solution.

                  • Taking 40mg a day, no progress yet. Probably not going to see a benefit, shame!

                    • hi everyone,

It’s been more than 4 years now since I started this thread. The results are even better now than they were last year. There is obviously some sort of cumulative effect in play. Be patient with these supplements. Even though the results came pretty quickly with me, they kept improving months after months. Today, I don’t even think about my rosacea. I know it’s still there, but it’s been fully controlled to a point where seeing a pustule on my face is now a very rare event. For those interested, I’m taking Natural Factors lutein 40 mg with 7 mg zeaxanthin. Clearly a miracle cure for me. Best of luck to all of you who want to try it.

                          Hi Marcello,
I just happen to stumble upon this group and saw your posts. I am going to give this supplement a shot as I have been struggling with rosacea papulopustular for almost 6 years. I will post again in a few months. Thank you for sharing your miracle cure!
