seriously **** this condition. I know there's way worse things out there than red cheeks but I just moved into uni again and right before our meet and greet I had the worst flush I've ever had in months and locked myself in my room. Pisses me off haven't had a flush in forever and this happens. These beet red cheeks and full body kp has really hindered my more than acne ever did. just had to rant here sorry to be a downer but to whoever is experiencing the same thing I feel you. I have been a lot better lately with not letting it get to me and being confident and won't let this one time change that.

pumpkinpie71 sorry to hear that. i've locked myself in toilet stalls many times due to same reasons. just so people know, coming up to week 10 of Soolantra, and so far - it hasn't helped.

really hopeful for that new Allergan cream when it comes out.

An article I came across a few weeks back. Doesn't fix the problem, but made me smile at least I guess

            Brady Barrows, np.

i've read quite a few of your posts, but amongst the thousands of threads - i wouldn't be able to pin point the exact one i am after.

with KPRF, i've tried the ipl, pdl, nd:yag - and countless other treatments

with creams / washes and such, i always gave up at the first sign of aggravation (redness)

i'm starting to realise that possibly to get rid of the excess keratin, there will be some aggravation - so i'm thinking what i shall try, is gradually do small area by small area, so my whole cheeks aren't bright red and inflamed at the same time.

do you recommend a particular cream / wash for exfoliating the keratin in the face i.e. KPRF?

i have bottles of amlactin, gold bond and others which are pretty much unused because as stated i would give up at the first hurdle

            many thanks,
            Pancake

I got a new batch from Realworks anti-redness moisturizer.

Im going to test this again for 2 months, see what my results are daily.

              Have a nice day!

                  Rosacea Plus Depression

Hi guys can anyone help me? I don't know which one is worse, my rosacea or my depression. It has been going on for a few years now and even if people have been telling me to get help, I don't know, it just seems so much easier sometimes to just end it all.

I would like to start a thread to reach out to all those with kp and other skin conditions and dealing with social anxiety and confidence issues. It's really rough living with kprf knowing that it might never improve, and if so it will be only in adult hood...unlike rosacea or something which has much more effective treatments. As someone in early adult hood this condition has ruined my social skills as it has only gotten worse and spread to the sides of my cheeks/nose with age. Looking people in the eyes, preventing anxiety flushes, worrying that people are thinking about your skin, all that has effected my confidence greatly, and I used to be such an outgoing and confident individual. I am wondering how others deal with this? I try so hard not to care about my skin but everytime I look in the mirror it's just depressing, especially because bathrooms have such good lighting and make your skin look even worse.

I think my next step is to get on an ssri, as many of you have had success with them. I'm researching this disease every day and have a few other things I might want to try:

vitamin d and vitamin k: i've seen a few posts on other forums of people having success with this. another person said eating liver helped lots, which is also high in vitamin k.

ashwaghanda: i tried it for a bit but didn't really see anything so I went off. I took a couple last night again just to try it and I think there's an improvement, but I know for sure the kp on my arms is less, so there's that.

I'm sure one day I will mature to a point where my kprf wont bother me, but until that point continuing to do research and try different remedies is all I can do to try and rid this. KP is definitely genetic and there's no research on it really so us working together is all there really is at this point. That's why I would like to either revive an older kprf forum or start a new one for all of us to conjugate, instead of using the rosacea forum. If anyone is interested in that please let me know so I can try to make it happen.
I'm on here for a family member, and saw this old post. Did anything eventuate from it?

What you see is what you get in this thread. Did you use the top right corner and type in KPRF and see the results which are many? You would need to go through all the threads and see where KPRF is highlighted in yellow.

I have put together a page on KPRF at the RRDi.

I also have this eyebrow issue so your not alone.

My kprf is triggered so bad by heat, I live my life in the cold. This means you can never go out pretty much. I can't be in any rooms that are warm. Food is also a trigger and alcohol. This condition really separates you from the rest of the world. Doctors seem to think it's harmless lol it's mentally and physically destroying everyday as impossible to live a normal life. If I wasn't heat sensitive I wouldn't have a problem with KPRF as I'm actually a social person.

Once triggered I can burn basically 8 hours and doesn't feel like a flush.

Anyone have the heat sensitive issues? And any ideas on how to improve it?
