I want to put a big FYI out there for everyone - this thread seems to be very scare-tactics-ish. While everyone's experience is different, after 3-5 days of not applying Mirvaso, and only applying Sumadan wash (generic) and a Moisturize (Cerave AM or PM), my face was looking pretty great.

So, no, not everyone's face will take months to recover.

I posted this in my personal thread earlier, but here's my update in detail on switching off Mirvaso:

I went to the derm last week. She prescribed me finacea. My flair up (that I am blaming on Mirvaso at this point) went away in about 3 days after I stopped using Mirvaso.

I realized that despite how well Mirvaso worked... the rebound redness at the end of the day was definitely there, I just ignored it because in the morning I applied the Mirvaso again and my face was clear - again!

Once Mirvaso's rebound redness turned into a Rebound redness/break out... I realized it and it was bad enough that Mirvaso wasn't fixing it.

3 months on Mirvaso. I could see this drug working at some point. But it needs some work.

The Finacea - I apply it twice daily. It has kept my face pretty clear and therefore I am impressed with it. It does make me feel a little itchy and prickly a few minutes after I apply it, but I'm hoping that will go away in a few weeks. For now, I just resist touching or itching my face

After Finacea, I apply a moisturizer (cerave AM or PM). But I haven't noticed it drying me out or anything.

I still use the Sumadan Wash (generic) once a day in the morning. On occasion, I use the CeraVe foaming facial cleanser at night, but only on a "as needed" basis (after working out, etc.)

In short, Mirvaso didn't work for me after 3 months. Too bad of a rebound. But my face fixed itself in 3-5 days after not appling mirvaso, lots of water, very little trigger food, and just Sumadan wash and AM and PM moisturizer. Finacea is my new Rx topical. Working well.

You don't seem to have pointed out what specific part you are asking about so I'm unable to answer your question.

You are referring to Galderma correct?

          Yes mate .

A Blind man can see it needs work. But Galderma haven't said one word about it anywhere

            • You would hope they are trying to improve it behind the scenes nut I'm not holding my breath.

Personally I don't think there is a solution to any Rebound Flushing we would suffer from overdoing anything .

What I have found with Flushing down through the years is that Less is Best

                Example

A.. If I want to drink 2-3 small beers in a cool environment I don't Flush ... drinking beer at a slow pace we say in about 2 hours

Next day I am fine also as the alcohol wears off .No rebound Flushing

                B.. I go out and drink 6+ beers in about 4 -6 hours .

Next day as the alcohol wears off Im suffering rebound Flushing all day

So their is no Fix to Rebound Flushing

                  • Yes it's pretty cut and dry when it comes to vasoconstriction. I too don't see how you can ever overcome rebound redness (aside from being under the influence of a constrictor 24/7)

                      Ha ha .

But my point also was that everything in moderation can be also tolerable with Flushing .

Lower strength Mirvaso that works for 3-4 hours for special occasions with no rebounds might just work for some of us

                        Lol, pretty funny
I' m going to have a beer. Hold on, let me put my Mirvaso on.
I'm going to cry, wait I need Mirvaso first.
It's been 4 hours , I better run home, before my Mirvaso wears off and change into a tomato.
Sorry, laughter can be good. But wait I can't yet, I have to take my Mirvaso first.
                        I have some more.

Oh oh, I know another one. When you're in labor pain : doctor can I have an epidural and Mirvaso. Because when you have to push , you will turn red.

Would be a good commercial for Mirvaso.
Ok now I'll quit, before I get banned.
Then I have to use Mirvaso because I will flush when I'm mad.

I think you've totally missed my point on what Im trying to explain to you .

                                Lets start again shall we

Putting Mirvaso in its current strenght on your Face that lasts for 8 hours or in some cases even longer = Rebound even after one use in some people

Putting Mirvaso in half strength on your face that lasts for 4 hours = Does it cause Rebound even after one use ? ( 6 million dollar question )

Also it would be asking for trouble if you were to drink alcohol while using Mirvaso . That's just Asking for rebound
