I believe we have an overactive immune system. So when we get a trigger (food, allergy, etc) our immune system overacts while most people have a normal reaction. You hear about so many people who seem to improve once they improve their diet, exercise consistantly, etc. They are improving/strengthening their immune system. Maybe that is why we might need higher levels of Vitamin D to regulate our immune system better.

Who says we need higher levels of vitamin D? Dr. Gallo's research suggests just the opposite. In fact, I think a number of people have had adverse reactions to vitamin D supplements, myself included.
The research does suggest an overractive innate immune response. Would that be akin to auto-immune disorders? Or are auto-immune disorders distinguishable based on the type of response? Obviously rosacea does not carry the same ANA blood markers.
