I'm so desperate to try it, and I will in a couple of days. I'm so annoyed about facial flushing. My doctor suggested I try topical drugs like Rhofade and Mirvaso. They should reduce flushing by constricting blood vessels. However, their effect was temporary, and I was tired of taking the medication regularly.

I have. It didn’t work for me. Either the Dr didn’t understand how to do it since I was his first patient he was doing it on or it just didn’work. There are other people that have posted that they do it and they get some relief.

I was advised by Dr Nick Soldo (Scottsdale, USA), who used to provide advice on this board before retiring, how the botox flushing treatments should be performed and then passed this information on to my doctor. Treating rosacea with botox requires quite a lot of skill, for example, it is easy to burst the delicate, impaired rosacea-affected blood vessels. In my experience, it works best to target the area around the flushing area rather than directly on it, e.g. around the nose but not on it, or around the very edge of the ear but not on the ear. I've had this done about 20 times, but it can go wrong to various degrees. It seems especially effective for ear flushing, and is now recorded in the literature for treating rosacea, red ear syndrome and erythromelalgia. The aim of the treatments is to avoid the blood vessels themselves and to place the botox transdermally - the Accuvein is a useful tool to avoid bruising and potentially bursting blood vessels.


If anyone has had a doctor who is especially good at carrying out botox treatments for flushing, I'd be interested to know, either if you post it here or by private message.
