i have had what i think is rosacea since i was 15 years of age (it still could just be broken blood vessels). my nose was at first itchy, then began to swell, then when the swelling died down, i began to flush very easily from all from the trigger signs you should avoid to stop flushing. i have stopped flushing for a 2 years now. my nose, since the swelling, has been constantly red; sometimes the whole nose but always at the center of the nose. i also have some enlarged pores on my nose. my nose shows the symptoms of constant redness, uneven skin tone (from the enlarged pores) and easy irritability.
my doctor has failed on many occasions to diagnose me properly probably due to my young age at the time and has disregarded any possiblilty of rosacea since the beggining. Recently , i have read that an IPL can elimate the redness on my nose so i saw an ipl specialist and she diagnosed me with rosacea which leads me here. I still believe that it could just be broken blood vessels.
At the moment I am pushed to clear the redness as soon as i can so i am ignoring to seeing private doctor for another diagnosses and rather, knowing that an IPL will cease the constant redness i am having, go straight for an IPL instead. This is because i have read that an IPL can stop all redness, rosacea or not. If you have heard otherwise, please tell me.
My questions are:
-What type of rosacea do you think I have, if any
-On average, how long does the daily appliance of Metronidazole, Azelaic acid take to cure signs of the rosacea
-Is it possible to have the redness associated with rosacea elimnated from IPL and still have rosacea
-If i elimate all redness with IPL, and then apply for rosacea medication, firstly will it cause any problems and will the doctor prescribe it for me, given that they cannot see any redness
-Given that i have not yet been formally diagnosed with rosacea from a dermatologist or doctor, do you think that i should go ahead with an IPL as i have read that it can elimate all redness.
Thank you for reading.
