  • Help with nose veins and lasers?

I am a 28 year old male. Over the last year and a half, I have developed thread veins on and around my nose. In addition to those I have a patches of very fine veins between my nose and top lip which appears more as textured redness. If I stretch the skin, it is clear that the redness is composed of very fine veins.

Naturally, I would like to try to get rid of them. I had a Veinwave test patch a few months ago. The initial result was positive, but the veins returned - slightly worse than before - within a couple of weeks of treatment. Disappointed with the result, I did not return.

I am now researching lasers. It appears to me that the KTP and/or pulse dye lasers would be the best options. Does anyone have experience of such treatments in similar areas? What where the results? How many treatments did it take to see those results? Where there any complications? Has anybody had good results on such veins with other treatments?

    Help much appreciated.

Hi Heliotrope and welcome to the RF.

I haven't had veins in these areas but I believe that laser might be helpful. Purpuric VBeam seems to be more successful in getting rid of discrete blood vessels and hopefully others who have had similar symptoms to yours will chime in. In the meantime have a look at these links as they may contain some helpful information.

Thanks Melissa - those links were good.

It would be nice to hear from people who have had PDL or KTP laser treatment on nose veins - I'm interested in the results and, if any, complications.

I've booked a KTP test patch at a UK SK:N clinic. I'm keen to keep my expectations sensible. That said, my spirits would be lifted somewhat if I knew that there were people out there who have had similar treatments with positive outcomes.

So people, please do chip in!

Back when I had IPL treatments my doctor used to treat nostril veins with the 515 filter, single pulse. A purpuric setting. This was on the Vasculight IPL.
I had excellent results. The bruise mostly followed the pattern/path of the veins with little seepage.
          Previous Numerous IPL.
