  • Help the new guy, my fiance has gotten hives before and her doctor put her on an autoimmune or AIP diet. Has any had luck getting this to work with their rosacea?

    Thanks!

I thought I was doing my skin right by not using "chemically laden" moisturizers and cleansers on my face. Demodex feeds off of dead skin and sebum (oil), so if one naturally produces a lot of sebum or manually puts oils on his/her skin, this can greatly contribute to the issue in my opinion. For me, I've come to the conclusion that I must cleanse my skin daily (and properly with a good cleanser) and not use heavy creams or moisturizers on my face.

Demodex is the problem as far as I am concerned and my recent use of a cream that kills demodex mites proves it for me. My rosacea has gone. VANISHED! And all because of a rosacea cream I got from an on-line shop that has manuka oil in it along with tea tree oil and chamomile oil.

      • Your fiance should consult with dermatologist and buy their recommended products from a skin store like https://myskinshop.com/

        • I had stage 2 Rosacea, and am now fully healed. I do not even flush. I had 12 years of IPLS, Yag and V-Beams. I saw Dr Patteron and the wonderful - now departed - Dr Crouch for over 8 years. After having some laser treatment, at the very least, every 3/4 months, I can honestly say the main act that got me over it, was my diet. Not saying that is the same for everyone. I believe the diet and the huge amounts of lasers helped. I gave up dairy, wheat. Both those two ingredients caused my flushing. The only tip I can give, through experience, is wait until your treatment is over, wait about 2/3 months then assess how your skin is. You see people complaining after one treatment, the skin takes ages to heal.

Anyhoo, not been on here for a while, thought I would drop by !

          Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for dropping by. Your latest post was yesterday, and the one before that August 4, 2019. Good to hear from you again. I came up with a saying, "The rosaceans come and go, talking about their rosacea woes, some of these reports glow, while others are lows, still others crow."

            • I agree with SpencerK. Diet was huge for me....cutting out dairy and gluten. After 20 years my rosacea is completely gone. I started using ZZ cream in December with great success for Type 2. It did help a bit with redness, but liver cleanses/changes in diet were the big thing for me that got rid of the redness and flushing. It did take time but was well worth it. I stopped cortisone, metrogel and albuterol as they were only contributing to the problem. Rosacea went away, asthma went away, gut healed, IBS healed, hypothyroid healed. Healing is possible. I urge you all to keep exploring!

              • I can concur from my expierience that diet changed a lot for me. Maybe not in 100% for Rosacea but for overall health issues i had. Cutting dairy remove acne from my back and lips dryness. Cutting sugars removed my dandruff and acne from face. Unfortunatelly removing gluten from my diet didnt do anything. I'm on my way to make hormonal tests for mostly everything I can.

Now Im 10 days on low dose Izotretynoin and first impressions are positive. But that is normal for me that I start to test some new product and then for first weeks i may convicing myself that everything going the right way but after that first 2-3 weeks it return to normal ill state. So for now I will stay sceptic and wait some time before approval.

I am now eating a healthy diet, no dairy, meat, wheat, basically no processed foods and a lot of salads, vegetables, and fish. Also only drink water and been doing this for 8 weeks now.
My flushing is better but it is still there and I get flushing when laying down. Do you mind telling me about the liver cleanses, what you used, the dose and for how long etc. Or anything else you took that helped the flushing.
