URGENT help please, I've never woken up with it this bad. Desperate! (w/ pics)

Thank you for initiating this thread, RedRecluse, and for documenting your traumatic journey in such detail. It was very informative and I'm so glad it turned out well. I'm much older than you at 71 and have acquired what I'm fairly sure is demodectic rosacea following a prostatectomy and subsequent ADT and radiotherapy - both my hormone balance and immune system took a knock. The symptoms I have started in August last year near the end of my hormone therapy treatments and, apart from some fairly virulent initial outbreaks, are significantly milder than yours at present. I've been keeping things "in check" using ionic colloidal silver cream, gel and liquid, but it's not a solution - it just keeps the cyclical outbreaks of pustules limited to my forehead and the bridge of my nose and not too severe. And in these covid days I can wear a hat and mask when I venture out I would like to explore the option of using ZZ cream and, as I also live in South Africa, would be very grateful if you could pass on the contact details of your local supplier - a DM would be fine. And thanks again for the time you took on this and may 2021 be very good to you and all the other forumites.

Hi madala, good to hear from you and hope all has been relatively well. I don’t believe there is a supplier in SA any longer (used to be Skin Pro). I order directly from the ZZ Cream website.

Do you know if ZZ Cream can be effective against enlarged pores, generally caused by the oily skin? I read that demodox can cause the skin to react in this way. I also get selling of the skin and nose alongside the P+Ps.

Yes, I've read that ZZ Cream can help with enlarged pores. If Demodectic Rosacea has caused them, there's a good chance ZZ Cream will help!

Thank you for this amazing documentation. I'm trying out sulfur ointment cream 10% left on my skin during the night to see if it will help (quite drying). If it doesn't I will have to buy zz cream aswell.

Just some questions if you dont mind me as
Before you healed, did any particular food break you out? Like gluten/tomatoes/dairy i break out a lot from those plus the normal sugar. I would also get these very dry hands and face if I eat or drink something with gluten. I've always thought its gluten intolerance but maybe its just demodex related.. And ofc, the sun destroys my nose. My nose is my main problem area, rudolph would be jelly of it.

Thankfully I have no food intolerances/sensitivities with my demodectic rosacea under control. When I was suffering though, carbs and sugar did seem to aggravate things. I think I mentioned it in this thread.

Yes I do. Still the same watery maintenance dose once or twice a week. A tub lasts me around a year.
