Rosacea Care Sunscreen 30
The
ultimate sunscreen for rosacea and
sensitive skin.
With the introduction
of Sunscreen "30", Rosacea Care
is proud to be the first
international company to offer to
the world of rosacea the
extraordinary benefits of ZinClear, the
most advanced form of Zinc
Oxide and the primary ingredient in
our new Sunscreen
"30".
Dev eloped by research
scientists in Western Australia, ZinClear
provides remarkable protection against
the ultraviolet rays of the sun,
and in conjunction with the
other ingredients in Sunscreen "30"
provides a Sun Protection Factor
(SPF) of 30, the recommended level
of protection for people with
rosacea or sensitive skin. Sunscreen
"30" has been tested and
approved by the FDA.
Zinc
Oxide has long been used as
a primary topical agent in
protecting against skin damage from
the UVA and UVB rays of the
sun. It is safe and
non-irritating. But it has always
had the disadvantage of covering
the skin in whiteness. Now in
Sunscreen "30" that problem has
been solved.
Skin whitening is
caused by visible light scatter,
which is a function of particle
size. The bigger the particle
the greater the scatter and skin
whitening. The nanotechnology of
ZinClear creates zinc oxide particles
so small as to be invisible
- smaller in fact than the
wavelength of light. These tiny
particles in ZinClear protect the
skin but do not scatter the
light and thus leave no white
marks on the skin.
But
Sunscreen "30" is more than
just a sunblock. It also contains
Willowherb Extract and other
antioxidants to protect against free
radicals and active oxygen species
in a formula that not only
feels good to your skin but
will also keep it healthy. The
elegant base includes jojoba oil,
wheat germ oil and squalane to
provide a perfect degree of
moisturization. A doctor at the
Mayo Clinic who tried the product
said: "It is an excellent
sunblock that does a great job
as a sunblock but feels like
a moisturizer. It is
lovely!"
To maintain an SPF
rating in actual use, a sunscreen
should be applied more often
and more liberally than most people
do. To encourage this level
of usage, Rosacea Care is offering
its Sunscreen "30" in a
generous 6 oz. (177 g.) size.
This also represents a good value
since many sunscreens provide only
2 oz. but at more than
half the price of Sunscreen
"30".
As a general rule,
apply Sunscreen "30" once or
twice daily and repeat when
necessary. But when in open sun,
at the beach, skiing or
cycling, apply frequently and cover
all exposed areas of the body.
Since this has been designed as
a non-waterproof product, please be
sure to reapply after going
into the water. Sunscreen "30"
is ideal for children.

No stinging, amazingly hydrating without being oily, no "white"
zincoxide film. Perfect for daily use. Washes off easily. Highly
reccomend.

LindaSy compared to R care
This is the UNTINTED version of Linda Sy sunscreen.
Ingredient
differences: Linda Sy 14.5% micronized zincO, Rosacea
Care 7.55%
zinclear (micronized zincO)
The main difference I
noticed is that LindaSy's goes on my face
significantly whiter.
After waiting 15min my face is now a white-haze. So unfortunately
I'll have to wash it off. When I applied it I did not apply too much
and I did try to use circular motions to get it to absorb.
When
I put on Rosacea Care it can be semi-seen after I put it on. By the
time I'm done putting it on it has disappeared into the skin. Rosacea
Care is also more creamy to the touch. Therefore, Rosacea Care will be
my choice sunscreen.

Best I've tried so far
This is the best sunscreen I've used so far. It blends very easily, and doesn't make my skin look shiny. However it can sometimes irritate my skin ever so slightly, and if I apply lots of it I look quite pale.

OK but too pricey
Pros:
+ water soluble so you don't need facewash to remove
+ creamy, easy to spread
+ micronized zinc plus slight natural tint make it totally invisible after application
Cons:
- too costly
- strong chemical smell
- does not coverup at all
- does not self mattify
- not enough adhession to skin - easily balls up especially on top of gels/serums or silicones
Recommendation: I prefer Citrix SPF30.

non-whitening
I have been wearing sunscreen on my face daily for many years and have tried so many brands looking for a titanium based sunscreen that does not leave you looking corpse-like. This is one I have stuck with for the past three years. It also works well as a tinted moisturizer if you add a couple crumbs of mineral makeup (I use bare essentials) and does not irritate. It is not moisturizing enough for me in the winter so I wear a light moisturizer underneath.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids,
recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.
Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal
persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who
have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat,
cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory
papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where
flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop
intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous
enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
