Neutrogena Sunblock Lotion, Sensitive Sk

Better than nothing
I've been using this sunscreen for over a month and like it well enough. For my skin it's non-irritating, though if left on overnight it can cause breakouts. I found it a bit hard to blend in at first, then discovered it disappeard if applied immediately after my moisturizer (while face was still damp). Lightens overall complexion a bit while wearing, but does not appear chalky or shiny. I'll keep trying other mineral sunscreens, but this is the first I've found that doesn't have negative side effects with my skin. Plus it's very affordable.

Good SPF, but heavy
Like the other review, it's better than nothing as far as SPF coverage goes, but man is it heavy! I also found it to be greasy, especially under makeup. Probably better on body skin than face. I have better luck with good skin™ all calm spf 25 and as an alternative Solbar.

works well
It works pretty well and the texture is light enough. You can apply it on top of other makeup. It is not irritating, and it is fairly inexpensive and easy to find at most stores.

Extreme Dislike
I have mild acne and rosacea. I have always been a fan of Neutrogena, but this sunscreen is not a fave of mine. Within hours of applying this susncreen, my face was extremely itchy and broken out. I could always feel this sunscreen as well. I use zinc oxide now, and it really works. I was extremely disappointed with the Neutrogena.

spf - 30
Although this might feel heavy, once absorbed into the skin and worn throughout the day, i think it actually evened my tone. my father even commented after a 2 hour boat ride that it looked better. once i washed, it looked red.

Oily
This sunscreen did not irritate my skin... as far as sensation/hives goe However. When initially putting it on it made my skin extremely oily. I tried to absorb it with powder, which worked for a few hours,.. and then my face casts a glare again. I've used this product many many times (because I can't find a sunscreen that doesn't have similar effects with my skin). Maybe it would be good for people with dry or normally moistened skin.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids, recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.

Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat, cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
