Linda Sy ZincO Cream, SPF 20
(untinted)
Untinted ZincO Cream SPF 20 is sheer and
transparent when applied to the skin. Unlike other physical
sunblock, it does not leave a heavy white residue. It is a
unique multifunctional product developed for a population with
ultra-sensitive skin. This group includes individuals with
rosacea, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and allergy to chemical
sunscreens. ZincO contains dimethicone-coated microfine zinc
oxide as its active ingredient. It is a physical sunblock
which protects skin from UVB and UVA. ZincO also soothes
inflamed skin; tones down redness and provides a barrier
against heat, cold and wind. The original ZincO which is a
sheer, flesh-tinted cream, is suitable for daytime use on the
face.

Didn't like this
I found this sunscreen too thick and impossible to blend into my skin. it also left me looking very shiny, and with completely white skin.

I use this every day
I really like this sunscreen. I mix the tinted with the untinted to get a similar color as my skin and apply to my face and neck. It is somewhat shiny, but when I use Mineral Secrets base over it, the appearance is great. I can understand it might be a little heavy for someone with "oiler" skin, but for a dryer complexion, its wonderful!

Best sunscreen i've found
I've tried so many suncreens and the zincO not only doesn't upset my skin but acually calms it. Not sure if this is because of the antinflammatory effect of zinc oxide or the fact that this cream forms a barrier on the skin. My face is much less sensative to cold, sun and wind when i am wearing this.
It is a little white, i have found that if i moisturise prior to applying this then i can put on a much thinner layer, which looks better. It also does highlights by seb dermatitis with my flakey skin looking more obvious, but i find this with all suncreens.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids,
recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.
Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal
persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who
have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat,
cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory
papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where
flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop
intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous
enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
