Ok
This oil did an adequate job of moisturising my skin, and wasn't irritating. I didn't really find that it had that much of a calming effect and if my skin was flushed it wouldn't really help much, although it definitely wouldn't make the flush any worse. It also made my skin very shiny so I only used it at night.

Love this Vita-Oil
This will not make your face shiny if you apply it like this:
Wash your face and leave it wet. Leave hands wet as well. Add 1 or two drops of oil to your wet palm and rub both hands together to spread oil over your wet hands. Then apply with oiled/wet hands to wet face. If you don't have time to let face then air dry, pat dry.
When you use this before any other product, it will protect your skin and not allowing the stinging and burning from the other product that usually occurs (for me). I understand one can even use it prior to topical Rx's.
The $20 dropper-bottle will last you many months. Using it just in the a.m., it lasted 6 months for me.
I love it!

Vita oil
This is the only moisturiser i have found that doesn't sting when i apply it. I am very happy with it and think it does also stop my skin being as reactive to topicals or makeup.
It does take an hour or so to sink into my skin, but i am being very generous when applying it.

Great for reactive skin
This was literally the only moisturizer that did not make my skin burn and flush when I applied it. I used it with Linda Sy oatmeal cleanser and Zinco, and it kept my skin moist and unflushed through a Death Valley vacation, where daytime temperatures ranged from a very sunny 75 to a very windy 46.

Great stuff.
After an oil-based cleanser such as Laventine's or Shu Uemura's, this is the best moisturizer for rosacea skin. Absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy film, calms redness and stinging.

Made my skin itchy & inflamed
I used two drops, mixed with water, on my right cheek, and it immediately made that side of my face itch. The next day I had the worst redness ever. Perhaps the parabens?

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids,
recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.
Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal
persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who
have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat,
cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory
papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where
flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop
intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous
enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
